A friend has decided after much deliberation to buy a camera, which has led to the fact that we have agreed to make a photo tour. Just to try out his new camera and to see what the beautiful landscapes in Germany have to offer.
We could see quite quickly that today was not a normal day in Monreal. For photos and for friends of sunsets it was absolutely the perfect day! More about this in the course of the following photos! I think the first two pictures will already give an impression about what I am going to talk about. By the way, I got myself exactly for such activities a geotagging app to record where I've already been. In the Haveyoubeenhere-App I still diligently enter the waypoints.
Ein Freund hat sich nach langen Überlegen dazu entschlossen eine Kamera zu kaufen, was dazu geführt hat, dass wir uns darauf verständigt haben mal zusammen eine Fototour zu machen. Einfach mal ein wenig ausprobieren und schauen, was die schönen Landschaften in Deutschland so zu bieten haben.
Wir konnten recht schnell feststellen, dass heute kein normaler Tag in Monreal war. Für Fotos und für Freunde von Sonnernuntergängen war es absolut der perfekte Tag! Dazu im Laufer der nachfolgenden Fotos mehr! Ich denke die ersten beiden Bilder geben aber schon mal einen Eindruck auf was ich hinaus möchte. Habe mir übrigens genau für solche Aktivitäten eine Geotagging-App besorgt, um festzuhalten wo ich überall schon war. In der Haveyoubeenhere-App trage ich noch fleißig die Wegpunkte ein.
First we walked through the small village of Monreal. The houses are mostly old buildings, but they are really well maintained. The colors of the houses are very intense and on every corner you can find decorations. Just look at the picture with the fir branches, which serve as a dress! Simply awesome. Quite quickly, we felt really comfortable. Do you know that feeling when you are in a new place, and people look nervously on the street, because they think: "Will he do something bad?", here the people waved at us and seemed quite pleased that we had so much fun taking pictures.
Zu erst liefen wir durch das kleine Örtchen von Monreal. Die Häuser sind größtenteils Altbauten, die jedoch wirklich gut gepflegt werden. Die Farben der Häuser sind sehr intensiv und an jeder Ecke findet man Dekoration. Schaut euch einfach mal das Bild mit den Tannenzweigen an, welche als Kleid dienen! Einfach Klasse. Recht schnell haben wir uns wirklich wohl gefühlt. Kennt ihr dass, wenn man an einem neuen Ort ist, und die Leute nervös auf die Straße schauen, weil sie denken: "Will der mir etwas böses?", hier haben die Leute uns gewunken und schienen recht erfreut, dass wir so viel Spaß beim fotografieren hatten.
Monreal has, besides the beautiful village, one more great thing to offer, an old castle! On the path we chose, we passed this chapel. Between the photos are just under 10 minutes. From here, you can imagine what happened. Fog has formed in the valley. The castle is on a mountain, which made for an incredible view! Let's go to the next photos!
Monreal hat neben dem schönen Dorf noch eine ganz tolle Sache zu bieten, eine alte Burg! Bei dem von uns gewählten Weg, kamen wir an dieser Kapelle vorbei. Zwischen den Fotos liegen nur knapp 10 Minuten. Ab hier könnt ihr euch vorstellen, was passiert ist. Im Tal hat sich Nebel gebildet. Die Burg befindet sich auf einem Berg, was zu einer unglaublichen Aussicht geführt hat! Auf geht's zu den nächsten Fotos!
At this point we were already a little over 200 meters above the village. I'm not exaggerating when I say we felt like we were somewhere kilometers above the clouds, even though the "climb" didn't take long. I tried a few ultra wide angle panorama shots with my phone, since the tower is much higher than the surrounding area I had to trick a little. Furthermore, I think you can see pretty well that the sunset is going to be superb. Spoiler: It was.
Zu diesem Zeitpunkt waren wir bereits etwas über 200 Meter über dem Dorf. Ich übertreibe nicht, wenn ich sage wir haben uns gefühlt als wären wir irgendwo Kilometer hoch über den Wolken, auch wenn der "Aufstieg" nicht lange gedauert hat. Ich hab ein paar ultraweitwinkel Panorama-Aufnahmen mit meinem Handy versucht, da der Turm wesentlich höher ist als die Umgebung musste ich ein wenig tricksen. Ich denke man kann recht gut erkennen, dass der Sonnenuntergang richtig gut wird. Spoiler: Das war er auch.
Once on the tower, we had a breathtaking view. Before the sunset really got going, my absolute highlight was the tower, which is the other end of the castle. I always ask myself when I see such buildings, how people could accomplish such a thing at that time. Simply madness. Just look at the size of the stones in the last picture. Madness!
Auf dem Turm angekommen hatten man eine atemberaubende Aussicht. Bevor der Sonnenuntergang so richtig losging, war mein absolutes Highlight der Turm, der das andere Ende der Burg darstellt. Ich frag mich immer wieder, wenn ich solche Bauten sehe, wie die Menschen so etwas damals vollbringen konnten. Einfach Wahnsinn. Schaut euch auf dem letzten Bild alleine mal die Größe der Steine an. Wahnsinn!
Now, my absolute highlight of this trip: The sunset. Just for your information, the last picture is unedited!
What makes me particularly happy is that all this was not planned. My buddy has a hiking catalog about places of the west of Germany. So we drove to Monreal without really knowing what was coming. Unsuspecting we were rewarded with such a great view and sunset. Yes, I am grinning right now as I write this. This moment was just surreal. Even though I came to Monreal with no expectations, even with very high ones, this day would have surpassed them all.
Jetzt kommt mein absolutes Highlight dieses Trips: Der Sonnenuntergang. Nur zur Info, das letzte Bild ist uneditiert, so also wirklich extrem schön aus!
Was mich besonders freut ist, dass dies alles nicht geplant war. Mein Kumpel hat einen Wanderkatalog in dem Orte im westen von Deutschland eingezeichnet sind, die man mal besuchen könnte. Wir sind also ohne wirklich zu wissen was auf uns zu kommt nach Monreal gefahren. Nichts ahnend wurden wir mit so einem tollen Ausblick und Sonnenuntergang belohnt. Ja, ich grinse gerade während ich dies schreibe. Dieser Moment war einfach surreal. Auch wenn ich ohne Erwartungen nach Monreal kam, selbst mit sehr hohen, hätte dieser Tag alle übertroffen.
The last picture shows me as Papa Smurf. Just kidding, that's me looking into the sunset and grinning. I admit, the grin is not quite recognizable, because it is taken from the side, but believe me, I was grinning up to both ears.
Das letzte Bild zeigt mich als Papa-Schlumpf. Nein Spaß, dass bin ich wie ich in den Sonnenuntergang schaue und grinse. Ich gebe zu, das Grinsen erkennt man nicht so ganz, da es seitlich aufgenommen ist, aber glaubt mir, ich war bis über beide Ohren am grinsen.
