So, we came all the way from Cebu City, and guess what? We rode a plane and the flight was only 1 hour, so for me it was super fast. When the plane landed in Iloilo City, we rode a car for around 25 to 30 minutes and then the Molo Mansion was right in front of us. Honestly, my eyes felt so big when I see the mansion because it's looked like a castle from a storybook.
The best part is there is no entrance fee! Yes, it is free to go inside. You can enter anytime from 8 AM to 10 PM. You can take pictures, walk around, and enjoy the place without paying anything.
When we walked inside, I saw many things made by the Ilonggo artists. There were crafts, bags, shirts, snacks, and cute handmade items. It felt like the house was full of colors and smiles. Also it is so nice because it means the mansion is not only a house it is also a place where people can share their unique and hidden talents. Every corner felt warm and full of love. The workers were friendly too and they said we can take photos anywhere we like.
I liked the stairs the most because they looked so shiny and old at the same time. When I held the handrails, I imagined all the people who lived there before. Maybe they walked the same steps, maybe they laughed there and maybe they talked about their dreams there. It made the house feel alive.
The Molo Mansion is very old. It has a long, long story. The house was built in 1926 by Doña Petra Lacson and her husband Estanislao Yusay. They were the first owners of this beautiful home. Before that, the style of houses like this came from the 1740s, inspired by the Palladian style of architect George Dance the Elder. That is why the mansion looks very grand and fancy. It has tall pillars, wide windows and strong walls that make it look like a big house from history.
Outside the mansion, many people sat on benches and talked happily. Some kids were running around. Some families were taking group photos. The place was peaceful and calm, like a gentle hug from the past.
When I walked around the garden, the breeze felt so soft on my skin. The trees were green and the grasses were fresh. People were taking pictures everywhere because the mansion is really Instagram worthy, even like me. I felt like I was in a movie set.
If you ever go to Iloilo City, you must visit the Molo Mansion. It is beautiful , big and it is full of stories. And the best part? You can enjoy it for free. My heart felt so full when I went there, and I want other people to feel that magic too.
So, Hive friends pack your bags, ride a plane and come see the wonders of Molo Mansion. Trust me your smile will be as big as mine.
