There are wonderful cities or locations all over the world and traveling is the only way to discover them. A few days ago we decided to take a short trip by car, covering a distance of about 100 km and arriving in a very romantic location. Alberobello is a very characteristic city due to the presence of Trulli, drywall structures that in the past were temporary homes for peasants and today are the attractive pole of a city but also of a much wider territory, being distributed in no particular order in the whole region.
Over the last few decades, there has been an impressive restoration of the trulli which has encouraged tourism from all over the world. Once in the city, after some difficulties in finding parking for the car, we went to the historic center consisting of a central road, Via Indipendenza, from which small streets arise that wriggle between the trulli located on both sides.
The streets are narrow and purely uphill, it is possible to walk among the trulli which mostly have become shops where local objects are sold, in particular mini trulli made of ceramic, a material widely used in the area. The walk in the historic center is really very exciting and suggestive, not even the rain has managed to ruin our walk.
After many meters uphill and a few steps, we reached the top of the city where the park is also located, a place to sit and enjoy the view, while the children can play with the rides created just for them. After some relaxation and recovery of energy, we took a different road to go down to Via Indipendenza, a lighter walk taking advantage of the favorable and even less busy route, admiring the glimpses of a truly enchanting historic center.
Many small details that have improved the aesthetics of a city that is already incredibly beautiful. Across the main road, there is a famous staircase that recites the phrases of an Italian poet whose words transpire love of neighbor. A few steps away you can access the Cathedral of the city, an incredible church that with its two towers is visible from any point in the city, from the lowest to the highest. Next to the entrance there is probably the most suggestive panoramic point from which it is possible to admire the right side of the city of Alberobello, truly a postcard image, and also among the busiest areas of the city, all in about the magical shot.
They told me that during the Christmas period the city becomes truly magical, full of lights and with Christmas music. It also happens to find snow and the experience becomes truly unique. A place to visit with the whole family, children are delighted to run through the streets of the historic center so full of colors and liveliness.
Take care of your life and travel as long as you can
