So in the First part of Hampi Trip, I talked about how we have visited some of the ruins of a great kingdom and we explored Hampi the next day also. The next day was reserved for going to some long-distance places along with some places inside Hampi.
We started our 2nd-day journey after having a good breakfast in Hampi itself. We also checked out from our Hotel and kept all our luggage in the Auto itself.
Achyuta Raya Temple
At the start, we visited Achyuta Raya Temple which is one of the biggest and most splendid temples we have visited. It is located just in between the matanga Hills and Gandhamadana, both the places we wanted to go but could not because of the time crunch. To be honest, if it wouldn't have ruined it can be considered one of the best temples in the whole of India itself. A major part of the temple is damaged but it is the perfect place to view the great architecture and other things.
Before reaching the temple we have to trek for around 1.5 km which is again not that bad of a trek but still for newbies as well as with the Sun over your head it will be tiring. It took us around 20 minutes to reach the temple. As you can see we can view the Virupasksha temple from here.
As and when you start the trek you will see the big rocks and other things.
It's actually a great picturesque location if someone wants to have a photoshoot.
The temple is quite big in the area, where you can see almost everything as and when you move around the temple premises.
You can see that the top of the temple is literally damaged but the down is actually well intact.
The shrine where the main temple resides is actually located in the centre of the rectangular wall. The Matanga Hill is visible from the temple whereas the temple is visible from the hill. The carvings in the temple are done of monolithic rocks where one can actually view the lord Vishnu structure and other gods.
Anjaneya Hill
Our next stop was Anjaneya hill which is also known as Kishkinda, the birthplace of Lord Hanuman. We have to climb more than 700 steps to reach the top of the Hill to visit the temple. We can actually view the whole of Hampi from the top of the hill. There is a steep climb to the top of the hill but everyone was climbing with a full devotion and energy as well people chant while going up and down.
When we go up, we will find many spots where we can stop and take rest as well as click some photos. It actually takes us 50 minutes to reach at the top of the hill. It has a significance as well as connection to the Ramayana too because this is the route taken by Ram to visit Lanka to get his wife Sita. And because of that a lot of people visit Hampi to just view the glimpse of what might have happened at that time.
Tungabhadra Dam
In the end, we visited the Tungabhadra Dam where we can see the Dam from the top of the hill as well as the river. It was actually a soothing visit as we were truly tired but when we have visited there it was actually a reset for us.
It had a park inside it and a lot of people visit here on the holidays and there is a good Kids playing area too. We just sat there for like 2 hours for the reset as the winds were too cool and the atmosphere was awesome too.
