Hello!
Me again and next part of Tour de Slovenia as well.
Two in last week reflect more time as in couple of last weeks I was all around, so no time for serious writing.
For this post I was wondering should I post it to Haveyoubeenhere community or Photography Lovers which are my two favorite communities, and I decided to stay in Haveyoubeenhere as I still see it more as a travel post and not only photography post.
I have to admit that Haveyoubeenhere is really strong lately with curation support, for which I am really grateful! is doing great with all the support and there are many individual supporters as well. Big ones like
and small ones like me :)
In this second part of my trip to Logarska Valley I will share spectacular Solčava Panoramic Road. I feel in love with it! It takes you to 18 points of interest, pearls of the natural and cultural heritage of the Solčava Region, with breathtaking views of the peaks and valleys and past subsistence highland farms.
You would need a week there to do everything, but only one afternoon is enough to feel in love. That was the case with me. Firstly I went there with a bike in the morning. One of the best cycling roads I took and I was cycling in quite a few places through central Europe. It is probably too hard for “regular” – city cyclist, but for the other type who gets to look the hills with bike as well it is very doable and pleasant. It is about 30 kilometers round trail and you gain about 750 meters elevation. Road is partly gravel, partly paved.
So if you are “regular” – city cyclist I have a solution for you. That would be electronic bike. That thing became so popular in our country that there are more of them than regular ones. Awesome! There are always shared opinions about everything and it is the same with electronic bike. Is it good or not? Main reason for that question is that once your ride electronic bike your legs are not doing that much work and if you are young and fit you should give an effort and try to do regular. But still I say it is better to ride electronic and ride it, than not ride anyone. I am currently not in form to do this trail with regular bike and with availability of electronic bike I was able to go there on fresh air and still put some amount of effort in it. If I wouldn’t have possibility of electronic bike, I would simply stay home or do something else. So I see that positive and would advise it to anyone.
Solčava Panoramic Road consists of three different routes which can be combined.
The biggest and nicest part is Green route. There you have the most beautiful views also possibility for stops at tourist farms with great culinary. On this route you don’t have many hiking possibilities; it is more like stop and go route.
Than you have Blue route which descent towards Matkov kot, which is a nice hiking trail as I could see from the web, but unfortunately we ran out of time to do that hike. It finishes at Logarska Valley entry so you can do this by the way.
The last one is Orange route, which I did the other day and separate post will follow in the next week or so. There you can find highest located farm in Slovenia and do an easy hike to mountain pasture or real hike to the mountains.
I might lose trek a bit with writing what to see on all three routes.
So, my day started with cycling through the Panoramic Road and the weather was beautiful, sunny. When I came back and have a lunch with my family the weather changed suddenly! Ohhh what a shower that was. I don’t think I ever saw raining that much in my life. It was short, only about 15 minutes but powerful. After that it was partly sunny again. Clouds were low and there was some kind of mist as well at many places. I found that even ore beautiful for my photography opportunity as I bring my camera with me in the afternoon only. You can see the difference between sky on few photos below as I included few photos from my morning cycling ride as well.
In this first par you can see landscapes and views on all the surrounding mountains. I find these photos very relaxing, but yet showing how amazing nature really is.

This is the church of the Holy Spirit. It is located next to tourist farm Strevc. Great photography opportunity, but clear sky would sere me better on this spot I would say. Anyway, I like the composition.

You might have seen similar photography already, as last two photos were taken overlooking Klemenšek farm which is known to be one of the most (if not the most) photographed farms in Slovenia. It often occupies covers of domestic and foreign touristic brochures.
They say it is so special because of its roof. If I am honest, I can’t see anything special on it, but overall it is a truly spectacular view. Here I like it cloudy as it gives another dimension to the photography.
And what if I would tell you that view is not the best part of it… Food is!
They are well known by its cured meat, especially by cured pig stomach. So delicious that I had to buy one piece to take it home and I am still saving it for special occasion (I will eat it today if this posts reach 50$ payout – hahaha).
If you spend more time at the farm you can spend it in the company of livestock which is grazing freely around the farm.

But we are not over yet, I have quite a lot to share from this trip so stay tuned as more is coming soon.
