Good morning, Hivers friends. I took advantage of the weekend to go on a motorcycle trip with some friends and continue discovering the wonderful places and hidden gems that my beautiful country has to offer. This time, our destination was the city of Sogamoso, and we set off from Medellín.
During the trip, we had a great time at every stop. The first was in Doradal, Antioquia, where the original plan was to have breakfast. However, it was still very early in the morning and most restaurants were closed, so we ended up enjoying something much more authentic: roadside food stalls, where there was no shortage of empanadas, pastries, and other typical delicacies that taste even better when traveling with friends
We continued our journey to La Vega, where we finally stopped for breakfast. By then, the heat was already starting to set in, and we couldn’t resist enjoying a cold beer before hitting the road again. Mile after mile, the scenery continued to amaze us—mountains, nature, and roads that reminded us just how incredibly beautiful Colombia is.
Further on, we arrived in Guaduas, where we took the opportunity to have lunch and rest for about 30 minutes before continuing our adventure.
We then continued on until we reached the historic Boyacá Bridge, considered one of the most important sites not only in Colombia but also in South America. There, on August 7, 1819, the battle that marked our independence was fought under the leadership of Simón Bolívar and the liberation army.
There is a monument here in honor of Bolívar and the heroes who made this historic event possible. We took the opportunity to explore the site, take some photos, and rest a bit before setting off again toward Sogamoso, where we finally arrived to eat and recharge our batteries before continuing the journey.

Buenos días amigos hivers, El fin de semana lo aproveché para irme de viaje en moto con unos amigos y seguir descubriendo esos lugares y rincones maravillosos que nos regala mi hermoso país. En esta ocasión, nuestro destino fue la ciudad de Sogamoso, emprendiendo el recorrido desde Medellín.
Durante el viaje disfrutamos de grandes momentos en cada parada. La primera fue en Doradal, Antioquia, donde la idea inicial era desayunar. Sin embargo, aún era muy de madrugada y la mayoría de restaurantes estaban cerrados, así que terminamos disfrutando de algo mucho más auténtico: unos puestos de comida al borde de la carretera, donde no faltaron las empanadas, los pasteles y otras delicias típicas que saben aún mejor cuando se viaja entre amigos.
Continuamos nuestro recorrido hasta La Vega, lugar donde finalmente desayunamos. Allí el calor ya comenzaba a sentirse y fue inevitable acompañar el momento con una cerveza bien fría antes de seguir el camino. Kilómetro tras kilómetro, los paisajes nos seguían sorprendiendo; montañas, naturaleza y carreteras que hacen recordar lo increíblemente hermoso que es Colombia.
Más adelante llegamos a Guaduas, donde aprovechamos para almorzar y descansar unos 30 minutos antes de continuar nuestra aventura.
Luego seguimos hasta llegar al histórico Puente de Boyacá, considerado uno de los lugares más importantes no solo de Colombia, sino también de Suramérica. Allí, el 7 de agosto de 1819, se libró la batalla que marcó nuestra independencia bajo el liderazgo de Simón Bolívar y el ejército libertador.
En este lugar se encuentra un monumento en homenaje a Bolívar y a los héroes que hicieron posible este acontecimiento histórico. Aprovechamos para recorrer el sitio, tomar algunas fotografías y descansar un poco antes de emprender nuevamente el camino hacia Sogamoso, donde finalmente llegamos para comer y recuperar energías antes de continuar el viaje.
