On the way back from the beautiful town of Abejorral, Antioquia, as the green landscape faded away outside the window, I remembered a very beautiful, natural, and charming place I had visited some time ago. Without thinking twice, I decided to ask my parents and brother to make a quick stop so they could see it too.
The entrance fee is approximately one dollar per person, and to motivate them, I said cheerfully, “I'll pay for the entrance!” I didn't have to insist too much. They accepted with smiles, and that small gesture became the perfect excuse to continue making memories together.
It is the El Tequendamita waterfall, a natural spot that looks like something out of a postcard. It is a small but charming waterfall, surrounded by vegetation and with that relaxing sound that only waterfalls can provide. Its name has a very special origin: it comes from the famous Salto del Tequendama, and means something like “little Tequendama.” It is a more intimate and accessible version of that imposing waterfall in the center of the country, but with the same natural charm that enchants those who visit it.
There we walked, took several photos, breathed fresh air, and enjoyed a good coffee while watching the water fall serenely. It was a simple moment, but deeply meaningful. Sometimes you don't need big plans, just small spontaneous decisions that allow us to share and be grateful.
This beautiful place is located in the municipality of La Ceja, and from there we were approximately two and a half hours from home. The trip was coming to an end, relatively close to our destination, and although we knew we would arrive at night, our hearts were full.
Every stop was definitely worth it. Every landscape, every conversation, and every cup of coffee became memories that will stay with us for a long time.

Buenas noches amigos hivers, les cuento que de regreso del hermoso municipio de Abejorral, Antioquia, mientras el paisaje verde se iba quedando atrás por la ventana, recordé un lugar muy bonito, natural y encantador que había visitado tiempo atrás. Sin pensarlo mucho, me animé a decirles a mis padres y a mi hermano que hiciéramos una pequeña parada para que también lo conocieran.
El ingreso cuesta aproximadamente un dólar por persona, y para motivarlos les dije con alegría: “¡Yo invito la entrada!” No hubo que insistir demasiado. Entre sonrisas aceptaron, y ese pequeño gesto se convirtió en una excusa perfecta para seguir sumando recuerdos juntos.
Se trata de la cascada El Tequendamita, un rincón natural que parece sacado de una postal. Es una caída de agua pequeña pero encantadora, rodeada de vegetación y con ese sonido relajante que solo las cascadas saben regalar. Su nombre tiene un origen muy especial: proviene del famoso Salto del Tequendama, y significa algo así como “pequeño Tequendama”.Es una versión más íntima y cercana de aquella imponente cascada del centro del país, pero con el mismo encanto natural que enamora a quien la visita.
Allí caminamos, nos tomamos varias fotos, respiramos aire puro y disfrutamos de un buen café mientras contemplábamos el agua caer con serenidad. Fue un momento sencillo, pero profundamente significativo. A veces no se necesitan grandes planes, sino pequeñas decisiones espontáneas que nos permitan compartir y agradecer.
Este hermoso lugar está ubicado en el municipio de La Ceja, y desde allí estábamos aproximadamente a dos horas y media de casa. Ya el viaje iba llegando a su final, relativamente cerca de nuestro destino, y aunque sabíamos que llegaríamos en la noche, el corazón venía lleno.
Definitivamente, cada parada valió la pena. Cada paisaje, cada conversación y cada taza de café se convirtieron en recuerdos que nos acompañarán por mucho tiempo.
