Life is too short to stay in my cave the whole day so I went to Sentosa with a couple of friends and experienced being a kid again. We did the Skyline Luge!
How come there's a luge in Sentosa? It's common in countries where there is mountain-side snow however this Skyline Luge was designed to be ridden down the hill on a concrete race track. The mechanics are simple, it has 3 wheels underneath and a lever that I can push to go and pull to stop. The lever also helps me control the speed which is kind of cool considering that I'm only using the force of gravity to race with the other riders.
The progression of the design looks awesome and of course, the latest one is the best and I'm glad that I was able to try it.
The experience starts with going up the hill using the Skyride. It's already part of the package and it's a good way to admire the beauty of the panoramic view of Sentosa island. From the top, I can only see the race track down below.
It's an awesome start because I could almost touch the tree tops. It was a smooth ride but there were times when the cables were shaking quite a bit which added to the thrill of the ride.
As soon as we reached our destination, the ushers told us to run because the Skyride didn't stop. It was kind of a funny experience because we didn't expect that the landing experience would be as thrilling as escaping a moving car, lol.
From here, we were directed to the briefing area because it was our first time to ride the luge. We bought the 2-ride package which was a good decision to make because we were sloppy during the first ride and we only got to learn more about it during the 2nd ride.
I was unable to take a photo or video of the ride because operating the luge requires both hands. But I brought home the joy and excitement of the experience.
On our way to the train station, we saw a Parrot show. I didn't realize that these parrots were this huge!
The cool thing is that this parrot can say "meow"!
