A tourist place par excellence in Caracas has always been El Hatillo. With its great gastronomic offer and its unbeatable mountain climate, it is one of the most visited places by tourists and locals.
On Sunday I visited it after a long time. My sister who came from Spain, after eight years without coming, wanted to go and see how it was. She was very happy to discover that it was still very beautiful and she loved the very familiar and quiet atmosphere.
In the plaza many children playing and grandparents contemplating the place. All around, many restaurants were open and with many people, even waiting for tables. We could see a lot of movement, but the best thing is that everything felt very quiet, without those bustles, typical of places in Venezuela where there are many people.
The streets were clean and I saw new stores. I was left wondering why I hadn't been there for so long. I spent nothing and had a great afternoon taking pictures. Sometimes I wonder why, having such amazing places so close by, we abandon them and go years without going. I looked like a tourist, delighted to walk through a place I had walked through hundreds of times.
El Hatillo is a town on the outskirts of Caracas, or so it was a few years ago. Now the city has grown and eaten it, it is now part of Caracas, although its facades are still village-like and that is what makes it attractive. It is a place you must, yes or yes, visit if you come to Caracas.

Un lugar turístico por excelencia en Caracas, siempre ha sido El Hatillo. Con su gran oferta gastronómica y su insuperable clima de montaña, la hacen uno de los sitios más visitados por turistas y locales.
El domingo lo visité después de mucho tiempo. A mi hermana que vino desde España, después de ocho años sin venir, se le antojó ir y ver cómo estaba. Estuvo muy feliz al descubrir que seguía muy bello y le encantó el ambiente tan familiar y tranquilo.
En la plaza muchos niños jugando y abuelos contemplando el lugar. Al rededor muchos restaurantes abiertos y con muchas personas, incluso esperando mesas. Pudimos observar un gran movimiento, pero lo mejor es que todo se sentía muy tranquilo, sin esas bullas, típicas de lugares en Venezuela donde hay mucha gente.
Las calles limpias y vi nuevos locales. Me quedé pensando el por qué tenía tanto tiempo sin ir. No gasté nada y pasé una tarde genial tomando fotos. A veces me pregunto por qué teniendo lugares tan increíbles y tan cerca, los abandonamos y pasamos años sin ir. Parecía un turista, encantado de pasear por un lugar por el cual había paseado cientos de veces.
El Hatillo es un pueblo en las afueras de Caracas, o eso fue hace algunos años. Ahora la ciudad ha crecido y se lo ha comido, ya forma parte de Caracas, aunque sus fachadas siguen siendo de pueblo y eso es lo que lo hace atractivo. Es un lugar que debes, sí o sí, visitar si vienes a Caracas.
