Have you ever wanted to learn more about nature aside from the beaches and waterfalls in Surigao?
Warm regards, hivers! Now, on my 12th blog, I'm going to share with you my experience at a place where we can relax aside from going to beaches, waterfalls, and other natural wonders created by God. This place is called the forest. A forest where you can live in peace, or as others say, "Bukid is life."
Nice view right? Hehe
In the philippines, Bukid means Forest.
The term 'forest' refers to a big region of land that is covered in trees and plants. A trip to a tropical forest is a fantastic experience. I just had the opportunity to visit one.
We were mesmerized by how clear the sky was.
So, on a sunny day, my family and I went for a walk in the forest. In the end, I was overjoyed to have the opportunity to go into the forest, and took some pictures. We traveled to a forest to relax and live peacefully for a day away from the city, and to meditate sometimes.
So this is the Marang, a fruit of the marang tree consisting of a mass of small seeds embedded in a white sweetish edible pulp. And this is soooo sweet! Swear!
When visiting a forest, you must walk slowly and use considerable effort. The most uncomfortable thing of being in the woods was feeling as if you were carrying luggage. I felt as if a huge weight had been lifted from my shoulders when we emerged from the trees.
However, seeing the splendor of nature up near and personal astonished me. The sight of a bright blue sky was refreshing. It was a fantastic adventure. It was a tranquil, overcast day with no internet connectivity, and I found myself resting in the swing or hammock, or "duyan" as we call it, under the mini house, watching and savoring the beauty of the forests around me. This was my most memorable forest visit.
The duyan.
The forest was clean and pure. Sleeping peacefully under the brilliant blue sky. Was really fantastic!
I found myself admiring the aroma of grasses and the ambiance while doing this cutting it to maintain cleanliness. The smell of fresh air. Was really a great experience.
The forest, I realized, there was a small fishpond with tilapia fish also known as St Peter's fish and what we did? We’ve catched a lot of it for our lunch and fried it. The experience was really different from a normal one.
But of course, last but not the least is to experience again and again by having a coconut fruit or we call it buko.
If you wish to meditate sometimes? A visit in the forest is a perfect place for you!
