I recently embarked on a road trip along the western coast of Turkey, eager to explore the stunning landscapes and vibrant culture of this beautiful country.
It was the idea of my mother . She arranged this cruise for herself as a gift in honor of her birthday :)
As we drove along the winding roads, a beautiful green mountainside covered with bright green bushes and trees unfolded in front of us. We were high above the sea and the views were breathtaking! My mother was driving the car, and she asked to take a photo of these views, because she could not fully enjoy looking at them.
First, we stopped in Demre, where we saw an amazing phenomenon - ancient tombs located in the rock! There we bought museum cards to be able to visit the historical sites for free. Then we headed to Kas, a charming town located on the southern coast of Turkey. The city is surrounded by stunning natural beauty with clear blue waters of the sea and rocky mountains.
Unfortunately, my phone ran out of power and I couldn't take pictures of most of the places we passed. These were the cities of Fethiye, Oludeniz, and Bodrum.
We stopped in the city of Bodrum, which is famous for its impressive castle and lively marina. I wandered through the narrow streets of the old town, admiring the whitewashed houses and colorful shops. I also visited the Bodrum Museum and Castle, which has an impressive collection of artifacts, and I'll write about that later :)
From Kaş, I drove to the bustling city of Bodrum, which is famous for its impressive castle and lively marina. I wandered through the narrow streets of the old town, admiring the whitewashed houses and colorful shops. I also visited the Bodrum Museum and Castle, which has an impressive collection of artifacts and I will write about it later:)
We stopped everywhere along the road and took pictures of this wonderful coast. Turkey is so diverse! There are landscapes similar to Greece, Montenegro and Italy.
We also climbed the Bodrum hill, where there were interesting mills. I don't know what it means, but they are very original.
And also the best views of the city of Bodrum were here!
One of the stops on my trip was Kusadasi, a popular coastal resort town known for its sandy beaches and lively atmosphere. Here we stopped for one night to spend the night and I charged my phone. We strolled along the palm-lined promenade, admiring the views of the Aegean Sea.
Later we visited an island in the sea where there was a castle. Such a beautiful pine park and magnificent views of the castle walls above the cliff open here.
We climbed a mountain above the city to take a picture of this island from above!
Finally, we arrived at the end point of our cruise - the city of Cesme. Now we have settled here for 20 days in the apartment and I will have more time to describe the places I saw!
Bye bye everyone! 🏞️☔
