It has been quite a while since my last post, and honestly, it took me longer than expected to sit down and write this because of a very tight and demanding schedule. But today, I finally get to share something close to my heart a beautiful and peaceful place in Pitogo, Zamboanga del Sur, perfect for relaxing, unwinding, and even celebrating life’s small but meaningful wins.
This journey was made even more special because I traveled with my family. Traveling with them is always more than just a break from routine; it is a precious bonding moment. It gives us time to rest, laugh, talk, and reconnect something that busy days often take away. More importantly, it allows us to create memories and stories that we will surely cherish for a lifetime.
We woke up early that day, filled with excitement, and traveled for almost two and a half hours before finally arriving at AKING Beach Resort. The long drive was worth it, but what truly made this trip unforgettable was the story behind why we went there in the first place.
A week before our visit, an Auroranian happened to stay at the same resort. When the caretaker found out that the guest was from Aurora, she immediately asked, “Do you know this person?” and mentioned my mother’s name. Luckily, the guest recognized it, it turned out that they were also a relative of my mother. The caretaker then handed the guest a letter and asked that it be given to my mother.
Inside the letter was a warm and heartfelt invitation for my mother to visit the resort. That simple act of kindness, connection, and shared roots led us to this beautiful place. It reminded me how small the world can be and how unexpected moments can turn into meaningful experiences.
AKING Beach Resort became more than just a destination, it became a symbol of connection, family, and stories passed from one person to another. Truly, some journeys are not just planned; they are meant to happen.
p.s. the person who sent a letter was my mom's friend during her childhood.
