Hello hive friends!
Have you ever visited Gedong Songo Temple? Last Christmas holiday I went to the city of Semarang. I went there to visit my uncle's house, because it had been a long time since I met him. I also took the time to visit one of the famous tourist attractions in Semarang called Gedong Songo Temple. Actually this place is a recommendation from my friend . This temple is located in the Bandungan area, while my uncle lives in the Demak area. So, I had to travel about an hour and a half to get to the location. I went there by motorcycle. I went with three of my cousins.
Before leaving, my cousin told me that the road was a bit uphill, but I had no idea that the temple was located on a hill. I didn't even realize that it was so far from my uncle's house. The route to get there was actually good because the road we passed was the city area, only the distance was far. I felt tired on the way, even my cousin was so sleepy that we had to stop to buy coffee. But when we almost reached our destination, I was really amazed by the green scenery. From the parking lot to the temple is also quite far and passes through green scenery. So we took the time to take some photos until we lost track of time.
To get to the temple, we have to pass through the edge of a rice field and go uphill. As I said earlier, the temple is located on a hill. The incline is not too high, but it's also quite exhausting. And around the climb there is also a small pavilion and a road that looks like a bridge. Because my time was already tight, I didn't have time to get closer to the pavilion. So I don't know what's there.
After a little uphill, there are directions to Gedong Songo Temple. Then there is a horse stable on the side of the road. Anyway, if you don't want to be tired from climbing, you can rent a horse to get around the temple. I chose to walk because the horse rental price was quite expensive for me. The horse rental place is not far from the first temple. By the way, it is said that this gedong songo temple has six temple buildings that are located far apart. I only visited the first temple because of my laziness and the distance from the first temple to the second temple was about one kilo meter.
Honestly, at first I thought the candles were big and there were nine of them. Because the word songo in Javanese means nine, but it turns out there are only six temples. I also thought that the temples were close together, but it turned out that they were far apart. And it turns out that temple one is the lowest temple. So if you want to go to the other temples, you have to climb even higher. Just imagining it makes me tired, hahaha. But even so I am happy to have come to this place. I was a bit sad that I could only visit one temple due to the tight time. Though the scenery around the temple is very beautiful. Hopefully next time I can come to this place again and can visit all the temples.
