Hello Hive! What’s up? How are you feeling right now? I am hoping that everyone is doing well. Before the opening of classes on July 29, 2024, here in my country, the Philippines, our grade 11 students made the decision to relax on Nipa Beach or Tagboanan Beach Resort. They invited us, my co-teacher Ma'am Emz and me on July 27, 2024, a Saturday.
The route going to the beach
I enjoyed watching my learners playing and running
The students planned it before the end of classes for the school year 2023-2024; however, it is always postponed or on hold due to unexpected important appointments. We really thought that their plan was only a drawing, it would not happen, and it also rain on that day.
Ma'am Emz and I also ask the students to inform their parents or legal guardian about their plan.
The shoreline of Nipa Beach or Tagboanan Beach Resort
Nipa Beach or Tagboanan Beach Resort is situated on the center of Sitio Nipa of Tabogon and Sitio Punta of Borbon. Sitio Nipa is part of barangay Muabog, Tabogon, Cebu, while Sitio Punta is part of Tagnucan, Borbon, Cebu. The beach is on the boundary of the Municipality of Tabogon and Borbon.
Before the property was sold to the new owner, it was called Nipa Beach, and the new owner now called the place Tagboanan Beach Resort. However, most people or guests still call the place Nipa Beach.
If you travel from Cebu City, it is just easy for you to locate the beach because it is just along the road and its common landmark is the long straight bridge of Sitio Nipa. Along the bridge is Nipa Beach already. You will only take a bus going to Tabogon from the North Bus Terminal.
If you are from the opposite direction, from the City of Bogo, when you passed the downtown of Tabogon, just drive straight until you arrive on the last part of the town. The only landmark that you will always remember is the long straight bridge in Sitio Nipa.
The beach is easy to access for everybody and the entrance fee and cottages are very economical. They also have watchmen on the beach patrolling the area and making sure that the guests are safe and sound. The staff are friendly and ready to serve and answer any queries.
The big rock on the center of the beach looks like a heart shape pool
There's a small cave on the side of the beach
The entrance fee is only 20 pesos or 0.35 USD per person. The cottage is only 500 pesos or 8.72 USD per day. They also have a wide parking space in case you have car, truck, or motorcycle. Any type of vehicles can park on the area. You will only pay 50 pesos or 0.87 USD for the 4 wheels vehicle and 20 pesos or 0.35 USD for motorcycle.
As of now, they do not allow overnight stays on the beach, but I think in the future, they will accept overnight guests because currently, they are still building the beach house and on the process of developing the area.
You may also bring beverages and food. For the food and drinks, there is no corkage fee. In addition, if the guests would want to grill or roast fish, chicken, pork, beef, or seafood, they have a grilling area for free.
This is the ideal spot for friends or family looking to spend quality time together and swim on the beach without breaking the bank.
Just a friendly reminder if you plan to visit the beach. Do not throw your garbage anywhere, especially not in the ocean. They have garbage bins where you can throw the garbage.
The Grade 11 students are organizing what food they will prepare and bring to the beach as we will be there from early in the morning until late in the afternoon to carry out our plan to visit, bond, and swim at Nipa Beach. Therefore, we must prepare meals for lunch and snacks. It is nice to have food while on the beach. All of us contributed for our food expenses.
Pancit
Grilled fish
Watermelon and mango
All we have is pancit, grilled fish, cooked bananas, watermelon and mango fruits, a lot of chips, and soft drinks. We may not be eating fancy or expensive food, but we are all happy and having a great time together, bonding, eating, swimming, telling stories and jokes, and talking about the day.
I did not stay longer on the beach. I went home around 2 o’clock in the afternoon because I still had another thing to do. On the other hand, Ma’am Emz and our grade 11 students stay on the beach until 5 o’clock in the afternoon. Since Ma’am Emz has a car, those students who do not have a motorcycle are just riding in Ma’am Emz’s car.
That would be all for my beautiful Saturday experience with my grade 11 students and Ma'am Emz at Nipa Beach or Tagboanan Beach Resort. Thank you for taking time to read my blog. Take care and have a safe journey.
