Hello, my beautiful community, how are you? Happy Thursday, everyone, and I hope you're having a pleasant and rewarding day. I'd like to take this opportunity to share another spot in Curitiba, Brazil. There are many, but I'm visiting them at a snail's pace, and I'm definitely enjoying each one. This time, I was in the city center and took the opportunity to visit the 19th of December Square, which I've been meaning to visit for some time because it sparked my curiosity.

Feliz jueves tengan todos y espero esten pasando un dia bonito y de provecho, por mi parte aprovecho para compartir otro espacio de Curitiba - Brasil los cuales son muchos pero los estoy visitando a pasos de caracol y sin duda disfrutando cada uno de ellos, en esta ocasion estuve por el centro de la ciudad y aproveche para realizar mi visita a la plaza 19 de diciembre la cual tenia en mente visitar desde hace algun tiempo porque me causo curiosidad.
The 19th of December Square is a public space located in the center of the city of Curitiba and declared a heritage site by the state of Parana. It was inaugurated on December 19, 1953 to celebrate the centenary of the political emancipation of Parana. It is mostly known as the square of the naked man and the naked woman due to its statues.
La plaza 19 de Diciembre es un espacio publico ubicado en el centro de la ciudad de Curitiba siendo este declarado patrimonio del estado de Parana, fue inaugurada el 19 de diciembre de 1953 con motivo de celebracion del centenario de la emancipacion politica de Parana, es mayormente conocida como la plaza del hombre desnudo y la mujer desnuda debido a sus estatuas.
This plaza features two statues, a mural, and a massive 30-meter-high obelisk, all in homage to the people of Paraná, to justice, to the city's culture, and its advancement over the years. You can find small benches with leafy trees to spend a pleasant and peaceful time. It has two statues. One of them is a woman called the Naked Woman, who is destined for the state's court of justice, hence its name. You can also find the statue of the Naked Man, which represents the people of Paraná looking to the future. He is sculpted in granite.
Next to the Naked Man, you can find the 30-meter-high obelisk, made of reinforced concrete, and not to mention the enormous 30-meter-long mural, a work that represents the cycles of the state, from colonization to the present day. Absolute beauty.
Esta plaza cuenta con dos estatuas, un mural y un enorme obelisco de 30 metros de altura, todos en homenaje al hombre paranaense, a la justicia, a la cultura de la ciudad su avance a lo largo de los años, puedes ubicar pequeñas bancas con arboles frondosos para poder pasar un rato agradable y en tranquilidad... Cuenta con dos estatuas una de ellas es un mujer llamada mujer desnuda la cual es destinada al tribunal de justicia del estado por esto es llamada Justicia, tambien ubicas la estatua del hombre desnudo el cual representa al hombre paranaense mirando al futuro, esta esculpido en granito.
Junto al hombre desnudo puedes ubicar el obelisco de 30 metros de altura esta elaborado en concreto armado y sin dejar de mencionar el enorme mural de 30 metras de largo, una obra que representa los ciclos del estado, desde la colonizacion hasta la actualidad, total belleza.
This plaza is truly quiet, perhaps frequented only in passing, but worthy of visiting for its historical significance. Currently, LED lights have been installed in the obelisk area to illuminate and add ambiance to the space. They also set the colors according to the support they wish to provide. For example, in the month of October, the lights are painted pink. This plaza is also part of some local fairs, allowing the sale of some agricultural products at affordable prices, thus keeping the plaza active. It is centrally located near one of the most visited shopping centers, so if you come here, you definitely won't miss it.
I loved getting to know it because when I visited the Palace of Liberty they mentioned it as the headquarters of the municipal market, which over the years everything changed and now it is just a plaza that has market sales from time to time. The statues seemed interesting to me, I tried to take some cool photos but I failed. I also read that there was a lot of controversy at their inauguration because they were naked statues, but in the end everything remained as it was designed without any changes, which is great that everything remains authentic from start to finish.
Esta plaza es realmente tranquila quizas frecuentada solo de paso pero digna y merecedora de conocerla por su importancia historica, actualmente en el area del obelisco han colocado luces led para poder alumbrar y dar ambiente al lugar tambien para colocar los colores segun el apoyo que deseen brindar ejemplo en el mes de octubre las luces se pintan color rosa, tambien forma parte esta plaza de algunas ferias locales permitiendo la venta de algunos productos agricolas a precios accesibles y asi manteniendo la plaza activa, de por si ella esta situada en el centro cercana a uno de los centros comerciales mas visitados asi que si definitivamente si vienes aqui no la dejaras pasar por alto.
A mi me encanto conocerla porque cuando visite el palacio d ela libertad ahi la mencionaban como cede del mercado municipal cosa cual con el pasar de los años todo fue cambiando y ahora solo es una plaza que cuenta una que otra temporada con ventas de mercados, las estatuas me parecieron interesantes tratae de hacer fotos cool pero fracase en el intento tambien lei que hubo mucha controversia en su inauguracion debido a que eran estatuas desnudas mas al final todo permanecio como fue diseñado sin ningun cambio de por medio lo cual es genial que todo guarde lo autentico de inicio a fin.
