Hoy estoy inmensamente feliz de compartir con ustedes uno de los lugares más hermosos que podrán encontrar en plena ciudad de Mérida, Venezuela. La Laguna “La Rosa”, un lugar que te invita a disfrutar de lo majestuosa y misteriosa que es la naturaleza.

Last Sunday, we decided to take a walk around the city of Merida and celebrate our 12th anniversary, I still can't believe that 12 years have passed since my love story began and what better place to celebrate it than this beautiful lagoon.
We left with our little son around noon, we walked to the nearest bus stop, we took the bus and half an hour later we were in this beautiful place, this is not the first time I have the opportunity to admire this beautiful place, but it is the first time I go with my family and that makes this visit more special.
El pasado domingo, decidimos dar un paseo por la ciudad de Mérida y así celebrar nuestro aniversario nro. 12, aún no puedo creer que hayan pasado 12 años desde que comenzó mi historia de amor y que mejor lugar para celebrarlo que esta bella laguna.
Salimos en compañía de nuestro pequeño hijo cerca del mediodía, caminamos hasta la parada más cercana, tomamos el autobús y media hora después estábamos en este hermoso lugar, esta no es la primera vez, que tengo la oportunidad de admirar este bello sitio, pero si es la primera vez que voy con mi familia y eso hace que esta visita sea más especial.
Upon arrival, you immediately feel how the traffic noise and everything that surrounds the typical concrete jungles is left behind and you begin to feel the magic of nature, the breeze of its leafy trees, those who drop their leaves gave us a spectacle of welcome and left my hair a bit messy, too low a price, for such a wonderful experience.
But what made me fall in love immediately was listening to that perfect symphony, that only birds can give us with their chirping, and that is that one of the most important functions of Laguna la Rosa is that it is a whereabouts for migratory and resident birds. if you are a little lucky, you will be able to see countless numbers of herons basking in the sun and cooling off a bit as they continue on their way.
Al llegar, sientes de inmediato como queda atrás el ruido del tráfico y todo lo que envuelve las típicas selvas de concreto y comienzas a sentir la magia de la naturaleza, la brisa de sus frondosos árboles, quienes dejan caer sus hojas nos dieron un espectáculo de bienvenida y dejaron mi cabello un poco desordenado, un precio demasiado bajo, por esta experiencia tan maravillosa.
Pero lo que me enamoró de inmediato fue escuchar esa sinfonía tan perfecta, que solo las aves pueden darnos con su trinar, y es que una de las funciones más importantes de la laguna la rosa, es que es un paradero de aves migratorias y residentes, si tienes un poco de suerte, podrás visualizar un número incontable de garzas tomando el sol y refrescándose un poco mientras siguen su camino.
Undoubtedly, this site has a unique charm, it is a fairly large body of water, approximately 13,000 m2 and you can get wonderful views from almost its entire perimeter. We stopped for a while and admired its beauty from the street that leads us to a residential complex called "El carrizal", I loved this stop, for what I mentioned before, from here you not only enjoy the view of the lagoon, but also the being closer to the trees, you can connect with nature in a direct way.
My son was so happy, he loves to visit places like this, he wanted to run and see everything up close. He wondered where all those noises were coming from. We took some pictures to immortalize this day and decided to enter the Science Museum that is located to the right and from where we could better appreciate it, in addition to enjoying the attractions of this institute that I will talk about in a future publication.
Sin duda, este sitio tiene un encantó único, es un cuerpo de agua, bastante extenso, de aproximadamente 13.000 mts2 y puedes obtener vistas maravillosas desde casi todo su perímetro. Nos detuvimos un rato y admiramos su belleza desde la calle que nos lleva a un conjunto residencial llamado “El carrizal”, esta parada me encantó, por lo que mencione anteriormente, desde aquí no solo disfrutas de la vista a laguna, si no que al estar más cerca de los árboles, puedes conectarte con la naturaleza de manera directa.
Mi hijo, estaba tan feliz, adora conocer sitios así, quería correr y ver todo de cerca. Se preguntaba, de donde venían todos esos ruidos. Nos tomamos algunas fotografías para inmortalizar este día y decidimos entrar al Museo de ciencias que está ubicado a su derecha y desde donde podíamos apreciarla mejor, además de disfrutar de las atracciones de este instituto del cual les hablaré en una futura publicación.
The views from the museum to the lagoon, made us fall in love more and more with it, we also began to ask ourselves many questions, because we were curious, why that green tone, from where this lagoon feeds, what species live in it ? We are quite curious, the good thing is that we found all these answers in the same place, since the tour guides were very kind and gave us a lot of information, in addition to all the printed material that we can find in their environment.
This Lagoon is of tectonic origin and is formed by the infiltration of groundwater, this seems to me something really interesting, it also gives us that intense green color, due to the discoloration of the algae, mosses and all the vegetation that surrounds the lagoon. This natural reservoir forms a vital part of the Andean ecosystem and has become the home of different aquatic species, although it is not so visible in the photos, we managed to observe some turtles, according to the tour guide, here we find seven types of turtles, among them the yellow turtles and morrocoyos, various fish and some aquatic snakes. Also, inside it, some alligators live, but they can only be seen when they try to hunt, in addition to the different birds that have made it their home.
Las vistas desde el museo a la laguna, hacían que nos enamoraran cada vez, más de ella, también comenzamos a hacernos muchas preguntas, pues nos daba curiosidad ¿por qué ese tono verde, de donde se alimenta esta laguna, que especies viven en ella? Somos bastantes curiosos, lo bueno es que encontramos todas estas respuestas en el mismo lugar, ya que los guías turísticos fueron muy amables y nos dieron mucha información, además de todo el material impreso que podemos encontrar en su entorno.
Esta Laguna es de origen tectónico y se forma por la infiltración de aguas subterráneas, esto me parece algo realmente interesante, además nos regala ese intenso color verde, debido a la decoloración de las algas, musgos y toda la vegetación que rodea la laguna. Este embalse natural forma una parte vital del ecosistema andino y se ha convertido en la casa de distintas especies acuáticas, aunque en las fotos no esté tan visible, logramos observar algunas tortugas, según el guía turístico aquí encontramos siete tipos de tortugas, entre ellos las tortugas amarillas y morrocoyos, diversos peces y algunas serpientes acuáticas. También, dentro de ella, viven algunos caimanes, pero solo se dejan ver cuando intentan cazar, además de las distintas aves, que han hecho de ella su hogar.
Like all lagoons, they are shrouded in mystery, legends and myths, this is something that caught our attention and we were surprised to learn that the name Rosa was given to this lagoon, in honor of a lady who disappeared. mysteriously in it. The pink lagoon is a site with great tourist potential, a mandatory stop if you are traveling through the city.
Como todas las lagunas, las envuelve el misterio, las leyendas y los mitos, esto es algo que nos llamó mucha la atención y quedamos sorprendidos al saber que el nombre de Rosa, se lo otorgaron a esta laguna, en honor a una señora que desapareció misteriosamente en ella. La laguna rosa es un sitio con gran potencial turístico, una parada obligatoria, si te encuentras de viaje por la ciudad.
To end our tour, we went to the viewpoint from the museum and we loved these concrete benches in the shape of a honeycomb, which reminded me of our beloved HIVE blockchain. Happy to live this experience, we continue on our way to the next stop on this very special tour.
