Muy buen día a toda la comunidad, desde buenos Aires, Argentina, les escribe Daniela para mostrarles algunas curiosidades de esta hermosa Cuidad: Salta, o como la conocemos en Argentina: Salta, La Linda.
The city has a mix of history, colonial-era houses, squares and modern buildings.
With countless businesses, places to have lunch and dinner, museums and hotels, what stands out most are the number of churches there are, more than 10 between churches, basilicas and cathedrals in the middle of the city.
La ciudad tiene una mezcla de historia, casas de la época de la colonia, plazas y edificios modernos.
Con innumerables negocios, lugares para almorzar y cenar, museos y hoteles, lo que mas destaca son la cantidad de iglesias que hay, mas de 10 entre iglesias, basílicas y catedrales en plena ciudad.
Like most cities in Argentina, the center is constituted in the main square, which usually has a church, the intendancy and in this case, also a cabildo, which is a replica of the one in Buenos Aires (which was reduced and remodeled many years ago), but this was maintained as it is over the years.
Como la mayoría de las ciudades de Argentina, el centro se constituye en la plaza principal, que generalmente cuenta con una iglesia, la intendencia y en este caso, también un cabildo, que es réplica del que había en Buenos Aires (que se achicó y remodeló hace muchos años), pero este se fue manteniendo tal cual con el paso de los años.
This city also has a particular attraction: the San Bernardo Cable Car. Part of the station located in the San Martín Park (approximately 20 blocks from the central square) and ascends 285 m to the summit of Cerro San Bernardo, where there is a beautiful parador, with lots of vegetation, waterfalls, restaurant, craft fair and unbeatable views of the city.
Esta ciudad también tiene un atractivo particular: el Teleférico San Bernardo. Parte de la estación ubicada en el Parque San Martín (a 20 cuadras aproximadamente de la plaza central) y asciende 285 m hasta la cumbre del cerro San Bernardo, en donde hay un parador hermoso, con mucha vegetación, cascadas de agua, restaurant, feria artesanal y unas vistas de la ciudad inmejorables.
As for museums, there is for all tastes, I would say almost next to each other. The whole history of colonization and independence can be felt in the city, but I highlight one in particular: "MAAM - Museum of High Mountain Archaeology", where they explain and show part of the archaeological heritage associated with the ceremonies performed in the high peaks of the Andes.
The exhibition of the children of the Llullaillaco is imposing and overwhelming at the same time, with a silence that respects the beliefs of the ancestors. I could see "The Maiden" and the state of conservation of the mummy is impressive. The 3 mummies are not presented together, they are rotated just to preserve them and one can see them inside a chamber with a special cooling precisely for this. Bring a sack because it's cold there!
En cuanto a museos, hay para todos los gustos, les diría que casi uno al lado del otro. Toda la historia de la colonización e independencia se puede palpar en la ciudad, pero destaco uno en particular: “MAAM - Museo de Arqueología de Alta montaña”, en donde explican y muestran parte del patrimonio arqueológico asociado a las ceremonias realizadas en las altas cumbres de los Andes.
La exhibición de los niños del Llullaillaco es imponente y abrumadora a la vez, con un silencio que respeta las creencias de los ancestros. Yo pude ver a “La Doncella” y es impresionante el estado de conservación de la momia. Las 3 momias no se presentan juntas, se van rotando justamente para preservarlas y uno las puede ver dentro de una cámara con una refrigeración especial justamente para esto. ¡Lleven saco porque ahí hace frío!
