Hello everyone,
How is your weekend going? I hope you had a great time with your family and friends.
Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park is a popular tourist destination in Vietnam for both domestic and international visitors. This breathtaking area is an absolute must-see if you ever visit the country of Vietnam. Please join me on a Son River Cruise to learn more about the lives of the people who live on both sides of the river. It is also a very simple trip that you can take your children on, and it is ideal for having a party with family and friends.
We decided to take the Sunset Cruise with Di Di Thoi Tours. The tour guide, Hieu, and the car arrived at our Homestay at 3 p.m. to pick us up for the journey. My family and I were part of a group of 12 people. It only took about 15 minutes to see the Cruise and meet Mr Hoan, our friendly boat driver.
Our journey began at the Phong Nha Center Tourism boat station. Hieu discussed the itinerary for the entire group, which included 3 hours on the cruise and swimming at a very cool spot in the river known as " Bai Da Can" by the locals. The view of the river was breathtaking. We were fortunate to have beautiful weather, with temperatures that were neither too hot nor too cold, and the sun shining. It's just the right time for a vacation.
Mr Hoan informed us that the Cruise's highest speed was 15km/h, which meant we had plenty of time to enjoy the scenery, take photos, and eat some local snacks like fresh fruits, peanuts, and dry sweet potatoes. On the boat, beers, cold drinks, and hot green tea were also available.
The view was so peaceful, it's likely that's how the locals have lived for a long time. The locals' houses were on both sides of the river, but they were unfinished. Hieu informed us that three villages, Phong Nha, Tram Me, and Na, have lived next to the river for generations.
They are one of the poorest villages in Quang Binh because they have to deal with floods every year (October to November), and in order to survive, they had to build higher houses. Locals here have primarily relied on farming or being a fisherman on the river.
Mr. Hoan led us via two breathtaking suspension bridges, with plenty of time for photography. Due to the bridges being much higher than the water level at the time, these two special bridges allowed children to continue attending school even during the flooding season. It is completely safe for them. The sun ca.me out on time so sunset view was so stunning
We arrived at Bai Da Can around 5 p.m. and swam and kayaked for an hour. The color of the water was worth the trip. In addition, the spectacular surrounded limestone mountains made for an absolutely breathtaking landscape.
We continued on to Chay Lap River Side, where we saw the car and driver returning us to Phong Nha downtown.
It was another fantastic trip that I thoroughly enjoyed.
There are no words to describe how incredible it is. Please take a look at the photos I've uploaded.
Thank you for reading.
