There are places that have more charm to visit if they are snowy, so we took advantage of it when it was still quite cold to visit the Golden Ring of Moscow, in Russia. Specifically, it was a short trip to Rostov, which seems to be almost a museum-town in my opinion, but with imposing Orthodox churches and different monumental ensembles, another interesting and charming stop in Sérguiyev Posad, and Yaroslav, a fairly large city, with normal life on the Volga river and which also has several heritages of humanity thus declared by UNESCO.
Hay sitios que tienen más encanto visitarlos si están nevados, por eso aprovechamos cuando aún hacía bastante frío para visitar el Anillo de Oro de Moscú, en Rusia. Concretamente fue un breve viaje a Rostov que parece ser casi un pueblo-museo en mi opinión, pero con imponentes iglesias ortodoxas y diferentes conjuntos monumentales, otra parada interesante y con encanto en Sérguiyev Posad, y Yaroslav una ciudad bastante grande, de vida normal en el río Volga y que también cuenta con varios patrimonios de la humanidad así declarados por la UNESCO.

After a strange and complex task, we started early, almost an hour by subway to go to the meeting point of the bus, which seemed to be from before the war. The trip would last about four or five hours, at first you could only see snow and a few trees.

We finally arrived in Rostov, as I say a beautiful historic town where its church domes could already be seen from afar, called by the Russians Rostov Veliky (Rostov The Great) to distinguish it from Rostov-on-Don, another major city. In this charming and majestic city there is also a Kremlin (there are in several cities beyond the famous Moscow, it is simply because it means fortified city, and in Russia it is seen that before they fortified cities well).
Llegamos por fin a Rostov, como digo una bella histórica localidad en la que ya se veía de lejos sus cúpulas de iglesias, llamada por los rusos Rostov Veliky (Rostov La Grande) para distinguirla de Rostov-on-Don, otra ciudad mayor. En ésta encantadora y majestuosa ciudad también existe un Kremlin (hay en diversas ciudades más allá del famoso de Moscú, simplemente es porque significa ciudad fortificada, y en Rusia se ve que antes fortificaban bien las ciudades).

But we quickly went to another magical walled city, with another complex of churches, monastery and a small house or pagoda in the center, and of course more snow… It is Sergiyev Posad. The problem is that on these occasions there is always interest and curiosity to see and explore everything, but outdoors at about -15 degrees celsius it was not easy to spend a lot of time in the open despite the sun, which illuminated but did not heat anything. But the color and brilliance of the onion domes, as is often remembered in the architecture of Orthodox monuments, and the rest of the dark green roofs, stood out against the snowy white of everything around them.
Pero rápidamente fuimos a otra ciudad mágica amurallada, con otro complejo de iglesias, monasterio y una pequeña casita o pagoda en el centro, y por supuesto más nieve… Se trata de Sérguiyev Posad. El problema es que en estas ocasiones siempre hay interés y curiosidad por ver y recorrer todo, pero al aire libre a unos -15 grados celsius tampoco era fácil estar mucho tiempo seguido a la intemperie pese al sol, el cual iluminaba pero no calentaba nada. Pero el colorido y el brillo de las cúpulas en forma de cebolla, como se suele recordar a las de la arquitectura de los monumentos ortodoxos, y el resto de tejados verde oscuro, destacaban entre el blanco níveo de todo a su alrededor.

It is not easy to do tourism like this in the cold, it is difficult even to be able to take pictures, your hands must be well covered. Despite everything, cold and snow, we continued on to Yaroslav. A city on the banks of a now frozen Volga River, with a UNESCO World Heritage historic center filled with more domes, churches and walls, museums, monasteries, religious symbols and magnificent panoramas.
No es fácil hacer turismo así con frío, es difícil hasta poder hacer fotografías, las manos hay que tenerlas bien tapadas. Pese a todo, al frío y a la nieve, seguimos ruta a Yaroslav.
Una ciudad a orillas de un río Volga ahora congelado, con un centro histórico Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO lleno de más cúpulas, iglesias y murallas, museos, monasterios, símbolos religiosos y magníficas panorámicas.

We also found at the end of the day, a large esplanade where a fire was housed, in homage to the "unknown soldier" from which the Yaroslavl Assumption Cathedral made its way to the background.
También encontramos al final del día, una gran explanada donde se albergaba un fuego, en homenaje al “soldado desconocido” a partir del cual se abría paso al fondo la Catedral de la Asunción de Yaroslavl.

We went to the Kremlin of this city, which was also here here, of course... There we could see a church of medieval origin, one of the oldest buildings in the region, as well as others of more classical construction, light in color and gleaming. There is much to see and visit, and better if it is possible to enter the different buildings, not only to contemplate them but also to alleviate the cold that little by little was beginning to numb the fingers and toes.
Fuimos al Kremlin de esta ciudad, que aquí también lo había aquí, por supuesto... Allí pudimos ver una iglesia de origen medieval, uno de los edificios más antiguos de la región, además de otras de más clásica construcción, de color claro y relucientes. Hay mucho que ver y visitar, y mejor si es posible entrar en los diferentes edificios, no sólo para contemplarlos sino también para aliviar el frío que poco a poco empezaba a entumecer los dedos de manos y pies.

And shortly after we enjoyed a brief time simply through the streets of the city, a city with a lot of life, shops, restaurants and places to go out... But knowing that the short and cold trip was ending and it was time to return to the origin, to the jewel of the crown, of that wonderful "gold ring of Moscow". The capital itself is incredible, but these other not too distant towns that house so much imperial history, from other times, so much architectural and natural beauty are no less so.
Y poco después disfrutamos de un breve tiempo simplemente por las calles de la ciudad, una ciudad con mucha vida, tiendas, restaurantes y sitios para salir… Pero sabiendo que el breve y frío viaje iba acabando y toca volver al origen, a la joya de la corona, de ese maravilloso “anillo de oro de Moscú”. Ya de por sí la capital es increíble pero no lo son menos estas otras localidades no muy lejanas que albergan tanta historia imperial, de otras épocas, tanta belleza arquitectónica y natural.
I did not want to fill the text with data, dates and more names, with so many details, but simply to give a few strokes of that fleeting golden trip covered in snow. Although to be able to enjoy all that wonderful environment well, you have to bundle up well, it is not easy to visit all those beautiful places during the cold season without freezing at sub-zero temperatures, but on the other hand, it makes that trip not like so many others, We will remember it in another more intense way, by looking at the photographs but without shivering from the cold!
No he querido llenar el texto de datos, fechas y más nombres, de tantos detalles, sino simplemente dar unas pinceladas de aquel fugaz viaje dorado cubierto de nieve. Aunque para poder disfrutar bien de todo ese entorno maravilloso hay que abrigarse bien, no es fácil visitar todos esos bonitos lugares durante la época fría sin quedarse helado a temperaturas bajo cero, pero por otro lado, hace que dicho viaje no sea como tantos otros, lo recordaremos de otra manera más intensa, viendo las fotografías pero ¡sin temblar de frío!
