Hello people and pinmapplers!
There are cities that we all know in some way, we have all heard about them, and some we have seen countless times in movies, series, musicals, etc. One of the most iconic is New York in the US, and what can we say about NYC?
The city of dreams, the most cosmopolitan and cinematic of all, the capital of the stock market, money, skyscrapers and much more. There is so much to see, to explore, at a frenetic pace in the city that never sleeps, everything is accelerated, even the people walking through its streets, it seems that everyone is in a hurry, there is always something to do, something interesting and as I said a lot about to see.
5th Avenue
We can start in many places, perhaps the most famous Avenue in the world, on Fifth Avenue we find many windows of prestigious and luxurious stores, many buildings and relevant architecture, which we may see in another post, now we simply enjoy the route tour.
Manhattan
And related to luxury, it is the money and from here we should go to Manhattan and to the well known Wall Street, where business, economic and stock market success are concentrated on the most influential island of all those in the city. Here is the Stock Exchange building, where someone relevant is sometimes invited to ring that bell that begins the day of rises, falls, or gains and losses. The flags of the American nation are always present and nearby, if the day has been beneficial, we could buy a jewel in the most famous store, who doesn't know Tiffany's? Suddenly we think of a breakfast, with diamonds? And we felt like we were in a movie.
Times Square
Because it is a city stage, a living stage for thousands of movies and more, and suddenly we find ourselves surrounded by an immensity of digital screens, neon lights, unstoppable stimuli and electrical impulses that make us open our eyes even more, surrounded by a dynamic agglomeration of people. People coming and going, giant posters of great works announcing theater plays in Broadway!, signs of places that we feel we know, and advertisements, more advertisements and more advertisements for so many things, for so many brands... the center of the modern visual capitalist world is Times Square.
Washington Square Park
We may need some calm, to get out of that constantly lit square surrounded by buildings and more people, because there are always people in New York City. But there are larger open places, meeting places like Washington Square, a large classical arch and again, we look up but not at more facades and windows or storefronts but at another different urban element, at a nice decorated arch that doesn't seem to fit there, but that makes a nice place in the place to be, without passing so quickly, to enjoy the surroundings and the park, to see the people who gather there, and those who enjoy the fountain.
Central Park
Although for more relaxation in that city that is so lively and always on the move, the best thing is a walk through Central Park, suddenly a lung where you can breathe cleaner air, surrounded by leafy green trees, with views to the other side of the city, a great lake, many paths where you can slow down, or where you can see those who are going to run, or those who simply want to enjoy a corner of nature full of peace. The oasis of the big city.
The Statue of Liberty
But you have to continue because there is an unmissable place that everyone wants to visit, it may be the symbol of the city, the symbol of so many things... the Statue of Liberty. And precisely we feel freedom when taking the ferry in Manhattan and from there sailing across the Hudson River, sticking our heads out and feeling the wind on our skin while we enjoy the views, the skyline of buildings in the distance, and the bridge, one of the many bridges that unite this great metropolis. Yachts and boats pass and time passes and there it is in the distance on Liberty Island, the great crowned statue with the torch in its hand high above.
It seems like a movie again but it is real, New York, that dream city that on a trip can become something fascinating but real.
