If some of you are visiting the wonderful state of Yaracuy, you can not miss the Guayabito River, is one of my favorite to all my family, friends and acquaintances I recommend it for the beauty, quiet and unique of this great place that makes up the Yurubí National Park, is a perfect place to cool off and have a good time, this time I will share my visit with my family, I hope you like it.
In these times of intense heat waves, it was necessary to go to cool off in the river, but not just any river, much less one nearby, for a while I wanted to revisit the recreational area Guayabito in Yurubí national park, thanks to a friend guide in hiking who is called "the water dog" can arrange and raise this trip that we gladly organized it, we were 22 people the total cost of transportation to take us and pick us up was $ 3.5 very cheap to go the location.
left very early from the square of Cocorote, municipality where I live, there the bus was waiting for us and our friend the guide, we arrived approximately at 8:00 am in the morning with the whole group, this recreational park is located on the road Marin-Yumare, via Crucito in the municipality of San Felipe, capital of the state of Yaracuy Venezuela, has an area of 236.7 km ², and is protected by the National Parks Institute INPARQUES.
The trip was a family outing, I was accompanied by my brother, my sister-in-law and my beautiful mother, upon arrival the ranger welcomed us, they opened the doors, the entrance to the area is completely free, but if you go in a private vehicle has a fee, we followed the path of the guide, immediately after entering we could feel the large amount of fresh air, and the smell of river, we took comfortable clothes, plenty of water and food for the demanding route that we would face.
We arrived down the river where there is a large parking lot for vehicles, public restrooms, as well as comfortable benches with block tables that visitors use to leave their belongings, sit and eat the typical soups and grills, which are usually made on the banks of the rivers among family and friends.
A few meters away is the Guayabito River, this river is not very fast flowing because it is surrounded by many mountainous curves, it does not have much angle of descent, on the contrary, it is very flat, that is why the river remains serene and calm, which makes it safer for bathing and fishing, Another reason why it is not abundant, is the large stone slopes that stops the speed of the water down the mountain, as we continue to move forward until we reach the waterfall, we decided to stop for breakfast arepitas.
We followed the route of our guide, when we arrived at an intersection of the river an opening of ravine, was the new route to the waterfalls and the waterfalls, in the very demanding road, full of curves, stones and sticks, we arrived at two small waterfalls, totally beautiful with a calm flow to the side there was a cave that according to usually hide some cunaguaros that are small felines that inhabit the area.
After three intense hours of climbing up the river we were able to reach the great blue-green pool and the waterfall of approximately 15 meters high, there we took advantage to take a good dip in the nice cold water, also to enjoy nature, above the blue-green well is the highest waterfall of the trail, as you can see in the picture I know our risky water doggy guide, he climbed up defying any danger as he usually is in all his expeditions.
It was a great challenge for my mom to reach the great waterfall, but my mother is always a woman who takes the initiative to achieve anything and so it was, we got to take some pictures, spend a good time under the pity that covers the waterfall was the best moment of the adventure.
After a few minutes we decided to go down to the shore where the group was to eat, rest for a while and prepare for the descent, as it is usually the return in a steep descent is faster and less demanding, we arrived very quickly to the riverbed at the entrance of the park in less than an hour without first going for a walk through the deep pools to cool off from the heat.
By 3:30 pm in the afternoon we were ready to return, we just had to take the sand out of our shoes, dry off a little and wait for the bus, which by chance was coming to pick us up.
This was an excellent adventure trip, we enjoyed it one hundred percent, from the planning to arriving home tired and tanned, the whole moment was worth it, these moments with my family, with friends or acquaintances, are the ones that are most worth living and sharing, I will keep, treasure and share with you.
