Calke Abbey is a Grade I listed country house near Ticknall, Derbyshire, England. It is maintained by the National Trust.
We've visited before but never found the old oak tree which is affectionately called the 'Old Man of Caulke', until today.
The tree is over 1,200 years old. Something that's older than me! As the tree is so old there is fencing around it to stop people from climbing on it.
When a tree dies and falls down they leave it in place so it will be home to many insects. This is called the 'dragon tree'.
There’s also a few ‘walking trees' that have spread by their branches touching the ground, and reseeding a new tree.
There are many walks in the park, as there are 600 acres to explore, so you can see many weird and wonderful trees.
