Visit Kham Chanot Forest, Mueang Laplace, a long story of Isan people. And today I experience that story. It took me 3 hours to travel from Khon Kaen to Kham Chanot. Kham Chanot is the name of a tree that surrounds it, so the name of that place is Koh Kham Chanot. Kham Chanot looks like a small island surrounded by rivers and this island never floods with people around here at high tide so people believe that this island can float on water. The first thing I saw was that there were many people and shops along the way. So buy things to worship and pay homage
There are several local restrictions on getting in: 1, No shoes, 2, No hats or umbrellas, 3, No smoking or drinking, 4, No loud noises, etc. It was very cold on this day in the forest but many people will still come here to bow down to pray and do their meditations offings their merits to the Buddhas.
In this forest, there is a small pond in the middle of the forest that will never dry up no matter the season. Isan people believe in the unseen and there are many events that make people there believe in this forest. However, at present, this has not been proven. But it is still a secret and belief of the people in this area and there are still many people who visit this forest until now.
