Hello everyone! On my first visit to La Candelaria in Bogotá I was not able to enter the gold museum since at that time the issue of covid was with more restrictions and in order to enter the museum you needed to register on their page I think it was one or two days before your visit, but I always thought of going back again and being able to enter and a few days ago I was there with Pawel enjoying the history and everything that this great museum brings, and I want to share it with you.
Desde adentro podíamos observar allí afuera o lo que hay al frente del museo, y cómo pueden ver a la izquierda de la imagen de abajo hay una plaza pero esta estaba cerrada y no podíamos pasar por allí (no sabía el motivo). Era un día lluvioso o frío y mientras hacíamos la cola para poder entrar al museo (la cuál fue rápida) observamos a varias personas vendiendo diferentes cosas, entre ellas: chicha, churros, chucherías, camisas de la selección Colombia, sombreros, y hasta hormigas (me parece muy interesante que la gente coma de esto, pero realmente no sé si algún día lo intentaría).
From inside we could see out there or what is in front of the museum, and as you can see to the left of the image below there is a square but it was closed and we couldn't go through there (I didn't know why). It was a rainy or cold day and while we queued to enter the museum (which was fast) we observed several people selling different things, among them: chicha, churros, trinkets, shirts from the Colombia team, hats, and even ants. (I find it very interesting that people eat this, but I really don't know if I would ever try it).
La entrada al museo es bastante económica, solo 4000 pesos colombianos (aproximadamente un poco más de un dólar), y en la entrada nos pidieron nuestro carnet de vacunación y además nuestras identificaciones o foto de estás, por suerte íbamos preparados pues por nuestro anterior viaje a Colombia ya sabíamos que en la mayoría de establecimientos o sitios, para poder entrar piden el carnet de vacunación y en otros las dos cosas.
The entrance to the museum is quite cheap, only 4000 Colombian pesos (approximately a little more than a dollar), and at the entrance they asked us for our vaccination card and also our identification or photo of you, luckily we were prepared because of our previous trip In Colombia we already knew that in most establishments or places, in order to enter they ask for the vaccination card and in others they ask for both.
El museo del oro es un lugar con mucha historia, de hecho hay salas donde las personas pueden sentarte a disfrutar de vídeos con la historia de los metales, también de la historia de las civilizaciones anteriores, indígenas, y además muchas piezas en oro, otras en piedra y cerámica, entre otros, realmente hay mucha historia allí, incluso si te gusta mucho la historia y deseas, puedes pagar por un guía mientras te va contando más de toda la historia.
The gold museum is a place with a lot of history, in fact there are rooms where people can sit and enjoy videos with the history of metals, also the history of previous civilizations, indigenous people, and also many gold pieces, other in stone and ceramics, among others, there really is a lot of history there, even if you really like history and want, you can pay for a guide while he tells you more about all the history.
Realmente yo no soy muy amante de toda esta historia, pero les aseguro que era interesante ver todas estas piezas e imaginarse con la pequeña descripción que estaba allí en cada espacio de piezas, toda la historia de nuestros antepasados y como estos usaban algunas de estas piezas, así que si eres amante de la historia te recomiendo este lugar que seguramente te va a encantar en la ciudad de Bogotá en Colombia, por ahora lo dejo hasta aquí.
I am not really a lover of all this history, but I assure you that it was interesting to see all these pieces and imagine with the small description that was there in each space of pieces, all the history of our ancestors and how they used some of these pieces , so if you are a history lover I recommend this place that you will surely love in the city of Bogotá in Colombia, for now I will leave it here.
Luego de haber entrado en todas las salas, teníamos mucha hambre, así que Pawel y yo salimos del museo en busca de un restaurante para almorzar y encontramos un lugar llamado Laga que nos encantó también, dónde para poder entrar tenías que bajar unas escaleras y esto era muy interesante, pero te dabas cuenta de que existe porque afuera tienen un aviso grande y creo que muchas personas en la ciudad ya lo conocen porque tiempo después de haber nosotros haber llegado, habían muchos más clientes, por suerte llegamos a tiempo y nuestra comida no tardó mucho.
After having entered all the rooms, we were very hungry, so Pawel and I left the museum in search of a restaurant to have lunch and we found a place called Laga that we also loved, where to enter you had to go down some stairs and this It was very interesting, but you realized that it exists because they have a big sign outside and I think many people in the city already know about it because long after we arrived, there were many more customers, luckily we arrived on time and our food it didn't take long.
Me gustaba la decoración de este restaurante y todo su ambiente, habían varios aviones en el techo decorando la sala, y sus muebles son muy cómodos, también una vitrina con varias botellas y objetos divertidos. Tiempo después nos trajeron la carta y decidimos ordenar cerveza artesanal (la recomendada de la casa) para Pawel y limonada tradicional para mí y estaban muy buenas, además tenían buenos precios para los clientes, así que me gustó mucho.
I liked the decoration of this restaurant and its whole atmosphere, there were several airplanes on the ceiling decorating the room, and its furniture is very comfortable, as well as a showcase with several bottles and fun objects. Some time later they brought us the menu and we decided to order craft beer (the recommended house beer) for Pawel and traditional lemonade for me and they were very good, they also had good prices for customers, so I liked it a lot.
Y de comida, ambos ordenamos pechuga, asada para mí y en salsa de champiñones para Pawel y estás venían acompañadas con papas de casco y ensalada y todo estaba delicioso, por mi parte decidí ordenar también una porción de arroz ya que amo el arroz y realmente casi nunca falta en mis almuerzos, y estos lo tenían disponible así que los amé. Finalmente terminamos de comer, y nos fuimos a seguir recorriendo más de la Candelaria y que les mostré en un post anterior.
And for food, we both ordered brisket, roasted for me and in mushroom sauce for Pawel and these were accompanied with hull potatoes and salad and everything was delicious, for my part I decided to also order a portion of rice since I love rice and really It's almost never missing from my lunches, and these had it available so I loved them. Finally we finished eating, and we went to continue touring more of Candelaria and that I showed you in a previous post.
