Visitamos Kok Ma Market en Koh Chang, Tailandia [ESP/ENG]

Hola a todos! cuando estabamos en la isla Koh Chang fuímos a visitar a una amiga, a su esposo y su hijo que justamente también estaban en Koh Chang como nosotros pero en otro hotel, y de camino allí vimos un mercado con algunas luces que parecía muy interesante, se trata de Kok Ma Market, y decidimos que al volver a nuestro hotel entraríamos allí para ver que vendían y les cuento que nos pareció muy interesante, aunque este día no duramos mucho tiempo allí puesto que ya era tarde y no nos gustaba andar tan tarde en la noche en la calle pero como quedaba tan cerca de nuestro hotel, terminamos volviendo el proximo día también y la verdad es que nos divertimos mucho.

Hi everyone! When we were on Koh Chang, we went to visit a friend, her husband, and their son, who happened to be on Koh Chang too, just like us, but staying at a different hotel. On the way there, we saw a market with some lights that looked really interesting. It’s called Kok Ma Market, and we decided that when we got back to our hotel, we’d stop by to see what they were selling. I’ll tell you, we thought it was really interesting, although we didn’t stay there very long that day since it was already late and we didn’t like walking around so late at night, but since it was so close to our hotel, we ended up going back the next day too, and honestly, we had a lot of fun.

Ahora bien, quizá no es el mercado más bonito ni más elegante, pero a nosotros nos gustó ya que nos divertimos un rato allí. Primero estuvimos paseando por todo el lugar y la verdad es que venden muchas cosas, desde plantas, ropa, comidas, accesorios tecnológicos, puestos de juegos, juguetes y hasta una tarima y en frente de estas algunas mesas con sillas para disfrutar del show que hacían allí que por cierto estuvo genial, eran unas chicas con traje bailando y Olivia al verlas también bailaba con ellas.

Now, it might not be the prettiest or most elegant market, but we liked it because we had a good time there. First, we walked around the whole place, and honestly, they sell a lot of things—from plants, clothes, food, and tech accessories to game booths, toys, and even a stage. In front of the stage were some tables and chairs where you could enjoy the show they were putting on there, which, by the way, was great. There were some girls in costumes dancing, and when Olivia saw them, she danced along with them too.

Los precios allí eran bastante buenos, y al final compramos una pelota para jugar con Olivia y un forro para mi celular (que por cierto todavía lo tengo) pero también nos quedamos jugando un rato, Olivia jugó un juego de sacar globos que estaban dentro de unas rejas volando y explotarlos para sacar el papel que tenía adentro con un número, y si alguno de los peluches tenía el número que le salió a ella en el globo pues el peluche era suyo, y sí como ven se terminó ganando un osito panda y fue muy bueno porque ella ama los osos de peluche jajaja. Pawel por su parte jugó un juego de tumbar botellas con la escopeta y la bebida que tumbaba era suya, al final él se terminó ganando 2 bebidas también.

The prices there were pretty good, and in the end we bought a ball for Olivia to play with and a phone case for my cell phone (which, by the way, I still have), but we also stayed and played for a while. Olivia played a game where she had to catch balloons that were flying inside a cage and pop them to get the piece of paper with a number inside, and if any of the stuffed animals had the number that came out of her balloon, then the stuffed animal was hers. And yes, as you can see, she ended up winning a panda bear, which was great because she loves stuffed bears, hahaha. Pawel, for his part, played a game where he had to knock over bottles with a shotgun, and the drink he knocked over was his. In the end, he ended up winning two drinks as well.

Y si se preguntan si tenían insectos para comer claro que sí, de diferentes tipos y hasta le ponían condimentos o sal si querías jajaja, a mí solo me daba curiosidad pero solo verlos ya me daban ganas de vomitar jajaja. También tenían otras cosas como sushi, pinchos, postres, pescado, papas, tés, entre otros pero sinceramente no quise probar nada en lugares así, ya que enfermarme del estómago allí no era una opción para mí por lo que solo comía cosas de restaurantes o del 7eleven pero muchas personas si comían cosas allí y parecían locales la verdad. De todas formas la pasamos muy bien todos y disfrutamos el rato que estuvimos allí, además como les dije antes tienen buenos precios, por lo que este es un lugar que recomiendo conocer si van a la isla Koh Chang en Tailandia, especialmente si aman los mercados como nosotros pues aquí hay mucho para ver, disfrutar y la gente es muy amable también.

And if you're wondering if they had insects to eat, of course they did—all kinds of them—and they'd even add seasonings or salt if you wanted, hahaha. I was just curious, but just looking at them made me want to throw up, hahaha. They also had other things like sushi, skewers, desserts, fish, potatoes, teas, and more, but honestly, I didn’t want to try anything at places like that, since getting sick to my stomach there wasn’t an option for me, so I only ate things from restaurants or 7-Eleven, but a lot of people did eat there and they looked like locals, to be honest. Anyway, we all had a great time and enjoyed our time there. Plus, as I mentioned before, the prices are good, so this is a place I recommend visiting if you go to Koh Chang Island in Thailand, especially if you love markets like we do—there’s plenty to see and enjoy here, and the people are very friendly too.
