Hey 👋 all, hope all is great at your side ❤️
Today, I wanted to share my life's haunted story.
Before moving to Islamabad, I got a job in a cosmetics company as a sales team head and marketing manager in Pakistan's famous Saints City Multan.
I will share little background of Multan first, then my 4 months horrible experience living there.
Multan is 5000 years old ancient city, located in southern Punjab, on banks of River Chenab, ruled by Greeks, Arabs, Mughals and British.
It's also famously called City of Saints
Because of rich Sufi heritage.
Pilgrims from all over the world come to visit most famous Sufi shrines located at the heart of Multan
Shah Rukn e Alam and Baha ud din Zakaryia.
Multan weather is extreme hot in summers, and cold in winters, this city witnesses extreme temperature in the country, like thunder Stroms, dust Stroms and rains.
It's a very fertile and ideal land for agriculture mostly for citrus fruits and mangoes 😋.
Multan mangoes are the world famous (finest and sweetest).
Such as chaunsa and langra, export all over the world
If you have in your markets do give it a try, you will love it 😍.
Second famous eatry of Multan is Sohan Halwa
(Halwa or Halva means sweet or dessert).
It's an iconic delicacy of Multan, dence and chewy Halwa made from, wheat 🌾 flour, sugar, ghee and milk garnished with lots of dry fruits specially walnuts, whenever someone visit Multan it's a must to take home this soviener commonly called multani Halwa or Sohan Halwa.
Now Multan's world famous and heritage craft, blue pottery known as Kashi Kari.
This form of art was introduced in Subcontinent in Mughal era, the ceramic is hand molded, glazed and painted by the local artisans and exported worldwide.
Multan's centuries old handcraft camel skin lamps, Khussa and kacha tanka embroidery.
Beautifully handcrafted and hand painted (naqashi) lamps made in Multan only.
Multan's handcrafted footwear called (Khussa) is one of it's kind.
Kacha tanka embroidery is in fashion from centuries and will never be outdated.
(Whenever I visit Multan I must buy kacha tanka dupattas )
Multani mitti (mud) : Commonly used for skin and hair care and ayurvedic medicines.
This clay is rich in minerals, in the west it called (fuller's earth)
This is Multan in my words, so coming to my experience.
There's a rumor about Multan city that this city is under a spell of a demonic presence, many stories heard but I never believed.
First month I stayed at a hostel arranged by my office, nothing unusual happened, enjoyed there, made friends and discovered the city, after that they arranged a 2 floor house, ground floor was converted into office and godown and 2nd floor rooms for employees but at that time I was the only out station employee living there.
After few days I felt some presence around at, but I didn't pay any attention, then I heard strange sounds from downstairs like someone walking, or crying, or someone cooking or washing dishes in the kitchen.
Day after day something new happened, found my clothes cut into several small parts, my things vanishing, I got so scared that I complained to my boss, and co workers , they started laughing and no one took it seriously.
In the evening I switched on all the lights of house and before sunset get in the bed lock the door, luckily in my room there was a balcony so most of the night I spent there, but one night I was trying to sleep with all the lights on even in my room, suddenly lights go off, I ran to the balcony every house on the street has a light except me. I was trying to on my phone torch but you guys will not believe my phone stopped working, it was completely charged, from downstairs stairs loud crying noises clearly I heard , 2 boys I saw on street I stopped them for a help but when they saw me they started running.
That was the end, all night I spent on balcony crying and reciting Duas, first thing in the morning I packed my stuff, waited for the cleaning staff hand over the office and house keys, called the taxi and straight went to a bus terminal, booked my Islamabad bus and left Multan forever.
