Mussoorie is one of the most famous hill stations in India. I live in a metro city and that is why I like mountains, especially in the monsoon season when everything is greener than usual. It can be appealing and serene to visit during a weekend break. We always start early in the morning. Took a rented car, loaded it up with all the luggage, and started our trip. The best thing I like about road trips is the breaks we take in between, stopping at a nice place and eating good food with family. It was Mango season in Uttar Pradesh, an Indian state famous for its mangoes, population, crime rate, and illiteracy. Nevertheless, we saw a beautiful garden full of Mango trees, loaded with green mangoes.
We found some traffic during the journey since schools were shut down due to summer vacations. Everyone in North India finds their way to the nearest mountains. Since Mussoorie is close to the capital city New Delhi and the state UP, we could find so many cars from these two places when we reached our destination. In the evening we went for a stroll to have some snacks on the famous Mall Road.
We watched the sunset from a car parking which was also a small open cafe. You could get Maggi noodles, omelet,s and other egg dishes. Check out all the pictures from my trip:
LMAO. It's worse than a city during the summer season. Look at the no. of people!
Union Church, Built in 1874, it was situated near Picture Palace and on the road going towards Clock Tower. The location looked spectacular so I took a picture. I wonder how it would look like from the church windows.
It is Mussoorie’s oldest book store. It is famous because Ruskin Bond sits outside the store to meet fans and readers and sign copies of his books. He is an English author who published over 500 short stories, essays, and novels, including 50 books for children. After covid, he stopped doing it. I went inside and got myself a copy of "Psychology of Money" by Morgan Housel. It looks small but when you go inside, all you see is tittles and some cover pages of famous books.
All in all, it was a refreshing trip indeed. With The Himalayas as its backdrop, it's definitely the queen of hills. Although, I will never go back again during this time because of the chaos. Next time I will rather choose a remote destination where I could get a decent homestay or a resort. Hope you guys liked the pictures!!! Have a great day.
