The weather has been unpredictable in the past few days which makes it difficult for me to make my planned activities happen. Most of the time, the rain happens at the time that I plan to go out to visit a specific place where I want to go for a stroll.
A while ago, I was supposed to go to the Singapore River to go for a stroll with the hope that I would get a shot of the tourist boats that pass along the river. Unfortunately, it started raining as soon as I boarded the bus going there. It was frustrating but I didn't have a choice other than go to a place where there's a shelter that is huge enough for me to go for a walk.
I decided to go to Suntec City to visit the Fountain of Wealth with the hope that I could throw a coin and wish myself a better 2024 😅.
I took the MRT to the Promenade station and then I exited towards Tower 3 of Suntec City.
This commercial mall complex is probably one of the most confusing that I've been to. It doesn't follow a linear passage between all 5 towers before I finally figure out the correct direction towards the Fountain of Wealth.
As soon as I get into the entrance, the mood changes from a buzzing city vibe into a merry Christmas vibe.
There are 5 atriums in the commercial complex and everything has its own decorations that look similar, this added to my confusion when navigating through my way.
While on my walk, I noticed a sign that said Skygarden. Because of my curiosity, I went up to check what else do they have up there. It looks like a bar and a restaurant but with a nice setting.
The walkway is filled with lights and the whole area is well lit I didn't even notice that it's still drizzling at that time. After a quick walk around the Skygarden area, I went back inside to find my way to the fountain.
What's nice about roaming around the shopping mall is when you get to see interesting shops like this... they sell anime action figures! I felt like a kid again as I look at these amazing toys.
After several minutes of walking, I finally found the spiral staircase that leads to the location of the fountain.
As soon as I stepped out of the flight of staircase, this is the view that I had.
It may seem like a roundabout but it's actually part of the mall. Underneath these roads that surround the fountain are commercial stalls and restaurants.
The fountain looks impressive when viewed up close. The light effect looks magical, like a scene from the Avatar movie. And it does have a futuristic appeal to it.
As move towards the edge of the railing, I felt the scale of the fountain and the energy of the water that comes out of this giant ring.
The fountain is surrounded by highrise buildings that look like the ones from Gotham City because it blends with the dark clouds above it.
Across the road is a Christmas fair. It caught my attention so after taking the photos of the fountain, I immediately went there to check on the happenings over there.
I like the vibe in this spot because it makes me feel like it's already Christmas. The wet cement reflects the lights which makes it even brighter and merrier in my eyes.
