I hope you are well, I come to show you a little of my trip to Punta de Mata where he was able to know the livestock field of this small town, its culture and its people. For those who do not know Punta de Mata is like the second capital of the state of Monagas and capital of the municipality Ezequiel Zamora, of the same state. The city was created from oil exploitation in the area, and currently that is the basis of its economy. Its name is due to the fig tree because it was very tall, adding that at the time there were no streets or houses in the area, so the first inhabitants of the area used it as a reference. They claimed that when they were going to meet they would say: "We will meet under the giant tree there where you can see its top, where you can see the Punta de la Mata grande, we will meet there", hence the name "Punta de Mata".

The inhabitants of this small town are very nice, so much so that in the place where we were leaving they showed us around. Where they placed the meats for their consumption, the pigs and cattle, besides giving us an exploration through some hills finding many Araguaney everywhere (for those who do not know the Araguaney is the National Tree of Venezuela), fauna and flora. Including that as we climbed the hill we were heading to a posa with a waterfall as you can see in the pictures. It was a very magical place and we breathed a pure and calm air. The waters were of a very clear color that as you went further away to the deepest part of the water became a green water color.

We made many friends at the hacienda where we stayed because I went with my mom and a friend since her family is from there. When we returned from the river all tired and hungry we went to make some arepas with shredded meat, which were really good. If I would repeat this trip to Punta de Mata, although, what I do recommend is that if you ever go there you should bring mosquito repellent, sunscreen and moisturizer because as it is a non-urban place you can find many insects and curious arachnids, so that is my recommendation.

Espero se encuentren bien, vengo a mostrarle un poco de mi viaje a Punta de Mata donde pudo conocer el campo ganadero de este pueblito, su cultura y su gente. Para quienes no saben Punta de Mata es como la segunda capital del estado Monagas y capital del municipio Ezequiel Zamora, del mismo Estado. La ciudad se creó a partir de la explotación petrolera en la zona, y actualmente esa es la base de su economía. Su nombre se debe al árbol de higuerón ya que como era muy alto añadiendo a su vez que para la época no existían calles o casas en por ello que los primeros habitantes de la zona lo utilizaban como referencia. Alegaban que cuando se iban a encontrar decían: "Nos encontramos debajo del árbol gigante allá donde se ve su copa, donde se ve la Punta de la Mata grande, ahí nos veremos”, de allí el nombre “Punta de Mata”.

Los habitantes de este pueblito son muy agradables, tanto así que en el lugar donde nos alejábamos nos mostraron los alrededores. Donde colocaban las carnes para el consumo de los mismos, los cochinos y el ganado, además de darnos una exploración por unos cerros encontrándonos con muchos Araguaney por todos lados (para quienes no saben el Araguaney es el Árbol Nacional de Venezuela), fauna y flora. Incluyendo que al subir el cerro nos dirigíamos a una posa con cascada como se puede observar en las fotos. Era un lugar muy mágico y que se respiraba un aire puro y tranquilo. Las aguas eran de un color muy clara que al irte alejando más a la parte honda se volvía de un color verde agua.

Hicimos muchas amistades en la hacienda donde nos alojamos porque fui con mi mamá y una amiga ya que su familia es de allá. Ya al regresar del río todos cansados y hambrientos nos dirigimos a hacer unas arepas con carne mechada, las cuales estaban muy buenas en realidad. Si volvería a repetir este viaje a Punta de Mata, aunque, lo que si recomiendo es que si algún día llegan a ir deben de llevar repelente para mosquitos, protector solar y crema hidratante porque como es un lugar no urbano pueden encontrar muchos insectos y arácnidos curiosos, así que esa es mi recomendación.
