So yesterday I posted some photos from part of my visit to Ireland, with photos from around Dog's Bay and Roundstone, Galway. Today you get to enjoy some images from the rest of my journey.
After we left Galway we headed toward County Kerry, as we have family there. We avoided driving the long way through Limerick and took the ferry across the Shannon, which was a great way to see the world, and broke the journey. After that it was a drive down through Tralee and on towards Glenbeigh, on the Ring of Kerry.
We stayed a few days in Kerry, and got to enjoy the coast, especially around Rossbeigh, a long beach that extends as a spit for a mile of so, with spectacular views across the see to the coast and mountains beyond.
A drive around the peninsula through Cahersiveen brings you through to a place called Lettercamps. On a clear day you can see out to see and get a glimpse of Skellig Michael. This is now most famous for being Luke Skywalker's Island from the latest Star Wars films. You may be able to spot it in the pictures, it wasn't a clear day!
After we'd enjoyed the delights of Kerry it was time to return home to England, via a ferry from Dublin. It wasn't my first trip to Ireland, and it certainly won't be my last. Hopefully soon I'll dig out my photos of a previous trip, where I get all prehistoric with visits to neolithic monument, until then I hope you enjoy these snapshots...
