Hoy quiero hacer una confesión, resulta que yo soy de la ciudad de Barquisimeto, una hermosa localidad ubicada en el centro occidente de Venezuela que cuenta con una cultura increíble, una gastronomía divina y una gente bellísima; también tiene varios sitios emblemáticos entre uno de ellos el Parque Botánico El Cardenalito, el cual a pesar de vivir en esta ciudad nunca había visitado, así que decidí ir por primera vez a este parque y quiero que ustedes lo conozcan a través de mi.
Today I want to make a confession, it turns out that I am from the city of Barquisimeto, a beautiful town located in the center west of Venezuela that has an incredible culture, a divine gastronomy and beautiful people; it also has several emblematic sites among one of them the Botanical Park El Cardenalito, which despite living in this city I had never visited, so I decided to go for the first time to this park and I want you to know it through me.

Para comenzar quiero contarles que el Parque Botánico El Cardenalito, es un lugar que no puedes dejar de visitar si en algún momento vienes a Barquisimeto, ya que él es emblema de nuestra ciudad y consta de unos hermosos jardines naturales que resultan ser ideales para dar un paseo, hacer ejercicio o relajarse un rato. Este hermoso lugar se encuentra ubicado en la salida de la ciudad hacia el este y aunque no se sabe específicamente cuando se fundó, si se conoce que fue reestucturado en el año 2007 pero la existencia del parque data de años más atrás.
To begin with I want to tell you that the Parque Botánico El Cardenalito, is a place you can not miss if you ever come to Barquisimeto, as he is emblematic of our city and consists of beautiful natural gardens that are ideal for a walk, exercise or relax for a while. This beautiful place is located at the exit of the city to the east and although it is not known specifically when it was founded, it is known that it was restructured in 2007 but the existence of the park dates back years.
Este lindo jardín posee más o menos unos 1500 metros cuadrados, básicamente consta de jardines y caminerias, donde se comienza un recorrido desde la parte más abajo justo donde se encuentra un puesto de flores. Al comenzar el recorrido podemos apreciar diferentes plantas y animales silvestres propios del estado, de hecho el nombre cardenalito, proviene del pájaro autóctono del estado, una criatura en color rojo que nos representa y que de vez en cuando podemos ver por este parque volando.
This beautiful garden has about 1500 square meters, basically consists of gardens and walkways, where you start a tour from the bottom right where there is a flower stand. At the beginning of the tour we can appreciate different plants and wild animals typical of the state, in fact the name cardenalito, comes from the native bird of the state, a creature in red color that represents us and that from time to time we can see flying through this park.
Al continuar por las caminerias, lo primero que podemos apreciar es una gran jaula donde inicialmente había varios cardenalitos, pero en esta ocasión se encontraba vacía; al continuar con el recorrido llegamos al tren, es la simulación de un vagón de tren donde al principio existía una heladería, pero ahora hay un restaurante de comida rápida que se ha vuelto bastante famoso en la región, primero porque su cocina esta dentro del vagón y segundo porque venden unos exquisitos pepitos, además también puedes encontrar postres, bebidas, helados y café.
As we continue along the paths, the first thing we can see is a large cage where initially there were several cardinals, but this time it was empty; as we continue with the tour we arrive at the train, it is the simulation of a train car where at first there was an ice cream shop, but now there is a fast food restaurant that has become quite famous in the region, first because their kitchen is inside the car and second because they sell some delicious pepitos, you can also find desserts, drinks, ice cream and coffee.
Al seguir caminando, nos podemos encontrar con un colorido aviso que dice “Parque el Cardenalito” y que es un sitio perfecto para tomarte las respectivas fotos de recuerdo, esas imágenes que albergaras en tu corazón y que siempre te recordaran el momento en que visitaste este hermoso lugar.
As we continue walking, we can find a colorful sign that says "Parque el Cardenalito" and it is a perfect place to take the respective souvenir photos, those images that you will keep in your heart and that will always remind you of the moment you visited this beautiful place.
Si continuamos caminando seguiremos disfrutando de hermosos colores en cuanto a vegetación y también en un lado veremos la principal autopista de la ciudad llamada Cimarron Andresote, la que comunica a Barquisimeto con la ciudad capital, Caracas. De igual forma al seguir caminando llegaremos al primer monumento dentro del parque un gran cuatro, el cual es un instrumento musical parecido a una guitarra que utiliza cuatro cuerdas y que es utilizado en la mayoría de los ritmos folklóricos de nuestro país, específicamente del tamunangue que es un baile tradicional del estado Lara, lo que hace que el cuatro sea representativo para nosotros los guaros.
If we continue walking we will continue enjoying beautiful colors in terms of vegetation and also on one side we will see the main highway of the city called Cimarron Andresote, which communicates Barquisimeto with the capital city, Caracas. Also as we continue walking we will arrive to the first monument inside the park a big cuatro, which is a musical instrument similar to a guitar that uses four strings and is used in most of the folkloric rhythms of our country, specifically the tamunangue which is a traditional dance of the state of Lara, which makes the cuatro representative for us guaros.
Seguidamente después del cuatro se encuentra “La Tinaja” es una gran vasija hecha de forma artesanal, ella es un icono en nuestro estado porque nos representa como capital artesanal de Venezuela que somos, ya que en este estado específicamente en las poblaciones de Quibor y Tintorero se pueden encontrar un gran número de artesanías.
Next after the four is "La Tinaja" is a large vessel made by hand, she is an icon in our state because it represents us as the craft capital of Venezuela that we are, because in this state specifically in the towns of Quibor and Tintorero can be found a large number of crafts.
Finalmente, cuando nos aproximamos a la cima del parque nos encontraremos primero con un gimnasio, el cual posee diversas maquinas para que las personas puedan ir y ejercitarse sin ningún problema y ya en el final está el monumental letrero en ladrillo que dice Barquisimeto, esa hermosa arquitectura que te da la bienvenida a la ciudad y que cuando nosotros los guaros lo vemos nos llena el corazón de puro orgullo, emoción y alegría de saber que llegamos a nuestra tierra.
Finally, when we approach the top of the park we will first find a gym, which has various machines so that people can go and exercise without any problem and at the end is the monumental brick sign that says Barquisimeto, that beautiful architecture that welcomes you to the city and that when we guaros see it fills our hearts with pure pride, excitement and joy to know that we came to our land.
