Hello!👋 Hi! Mabuhay! How are you dear Hivers? I hope everyone's doing fine!✨
There are pieces of old memories that are good to reminisce and look back. The nostalgia that you feel hit different when you go back to places that gave you amazing experiences. Today, I'll bring to one of the gems of Medellin Cebu, the wooden bridge amidst the sea of Bantayan Beach Resort. So, keep reading!
Alluring Bantayan Beach Resort
Bantayan Beach Resort (formerly known as Medellin Hideaway) is located in the northern part of Cebu. It is estimated to be 116 kilometers away from the city. It takes around 4 hours of travel by bus. The resort does not have an easy access from the main road. So if you go by bus, make sure to ask the driver to drop you off in dropping point. However, If you have a motorbike, you can easily reach the place by navigating the map.
Meanwhile, My beau and I decided to explore the beaches in the municipality. We both had an ample of time, so we agreed to have a date but with a twist. We need to spend not more than 500 pesos or around nine dollars in our date. That was quite challenging. With Lilo, we rode en route to the place.
Since it has been a long time when I got there, I was a bit confused of the directions. We mistakenly took another road instead of the right one. I hurriedly picked up my phone and navigated the map.
Alas! We we were in a wrong direction. So I told him to just enjoy the rocky and slippery road and needed not to worry because I trusted my instincts. LOL.
Finally, after getting lost, we arrived in our destination. I was shocked by the changes the resort has made. The colorful paintings I had seen before were long gone. Nonetheless, the place still looked beautiful because of its captivating wooden bridge that's built amidst the sea.
The resort has regulatory rules imposed for visitors. The maximum capacity of the resort is 135 pax. Also vehicles are not allowed to park inside. These rules allow tourists to have more space.
What's in the resort?
Upon entering the resort's gate, there a reception area that welcomed you. The locals will collect your entrance fee that cost thirty pesos for non-residents of Medellin and twenty pesos for locals that live within the municipality.
The cottages are named after seafoods. The seafoods are Cebuano terms which are placed above the entrance area of the cottage. Interesting! I could imagine a sumptuous seafood feast! 💕 Each cottage could cater different number of people. There are small ones that are fit for circle of friends. And there are big ones that can cater family get together.
The tables inside the cottages has unique designs. One thing to consider is the cottage when going to resorts and beaches. Well, of course, aside from the fun that you want, you would also think about the comfort. Do you agree with me?
The cottages are connected through this bridge. From here, you can see the enthralling view of their wooden bridge, which brings the fame pf the resort. Wherever side you look, you'll have the salty breeze of the place.
The bridge is approximately a 15-minute walk. The pillars that serve as foundation were made of cement. It is about 8-10 feet long. The materials used for the bridge is bamboo and lumber. The management do not advise the visitors and tourists to use it because it's frail and delicate. Other visitors tend to walk by foot in the sea going to the endpoint of the bridge where a special cottage awaited.
AMINITIES
One important facility which I look into is the comfort room. It's not easy to go on travel feeling uncomfortable sometimes. The resort has comfort rooms for male and female. So, this is a plus point to me. Also, they have a handwashing station for all.
Other useful stuffs I saw in this resort are the food stalls and grilling area. As Filipinos, we love grilled food so much, may it be fish, shells, barbeque and pork. And if you crave for chichirias (junkfoods), you can have them right away in the food stalls inside the resort.
Kids' Happiness
If you have kids with you, worry no more because this place is exactly what you are looking for. They have slides to play and a clean shore where they can build sand castles. When we went there, we saw children enjoying despite the scorching heat of the sun. Those smiles, priceless!
In the distance (standing from the bridge), you will see the fascinating view from neighboring shores. Not to mention the windy and salty breeze when walk through the shaky bridge. But don't get scared, there are no sharks nearby that bite you when you fall.
Further, after hours of enjoying the view, we took the time by taking photos as part of the memories to keep. This is to remind me again that the memories I have made this day are treasured and kept. Oh, great! I think this place is good for prenuptial or debut shoot. AHA! This place has a lot to offer for shoots. Gotta come back here, again.
Finally, Create more memories. So that, there is something to look back and go back when time comes. The memories will serve as our diary that we can share to our future children. Indeed, "Things end, but memories last."
Thank you for reading this far. I hope you have a good time! Have a good one! 💕
