Hello! 👋 Hi! Mabuhay! How are you dear Hivers? I hope everyone's doing fine! ✨
Life is lived in many different ways. Others live comfortably while others don't. Some are active and fit while there are some that lie in a hospital bed. Some sleep in a warm four-cornered room with a thick roof while there are some that suffer from cold that sleep in sideways.
What comes into your mind when you imagine the life under the bridge? Find out in this blog.
WHAT ABOUT THE BRIDGE
Last Saturday, we went to the city to purchase a laptop for my sister. Since we brought our kids (nephew and niece) with us, we took our time by visiting some places. One of which, is the bridge that connects the two cities.
Marcelo B. Fernan bridge, or commonly known as "new bridge", is one of the three bridges that connects Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City and Umapad, Mandaue City. It is the most accessible bridge going to Mactan airport. To my approximate, it is two kilometers long.
It can be seen that the bridge is well built, secure and indestructible. The foundations and the way it is structured is sturdy that no typhoons or quakes could devastate.
Unfortunately, the rain poured hardly. It was difficult for us go home since we traveled by jeepney. If we pursued, then all of us would get wet from the rain. So we took a turn to the bridge. All were hesitant about the place, just like anyone else, our judgement of the place was negative. It's better to go to see for ourselves when the rain stopped.
THE FUN YOU SHOULD NEVER MISS
When we arrived, we were astonished by what we saw. You wont believe me either! There were no addicts, nor rubbers and homeless. The place was full of activities and facilities for recreation.
There were obstacle course for all. This kind of facility encourages everyone to promote physical activities such exercise, competition and balance and boosts the mind and the heart.
And to those who want to shake their bodies off, there is a zumba dance everyday Saturday that is organized by the Mandaue government. What are you looking for? Sports, relaxation, fun, you got them all here!
The place has maintained cleanliness and peace. I bet it's because of the responsible police officers that rove around. Because of their constant monitoring and surveillance, the place is safe to relax and refresh.
The area is wide for joggers. When I went there, I saw some joggers but went home because of the rain and wet ground. There was also a family of three that strolled around. It is a perfect place to date.
You can also play sports like badminton, volleyball, basketball, and skates. There were different areas for different sports. Unluckily, It rained earlier, we were not able to see crowd that were playing. The only sporty people we caught up were skating, playing badminton, and volleyball. Surely, if you are one of them, you'll really have a good time.
A MOMENT FOR YOURSELF
If you also need a break from work or stress, you can just sit and relax by the bench. Their is also a landscaped area where you can have a picnic and turn your headphones on and listen to music. The air is fresh as it is near to the sea. If had time, I would really choose to go back.
Speaking of the sea breeze, there were also people that went fishing and took a dive. As I can see, the sea is deep enough for fish to live. There were circle of friends that enjoyed talking and laughing while fishing. The kids were jumping joyfully and appreciate the saltiness and coldness of the weather and sea.
HOME OF THE CHAMPION
By the way, have you also heard of Margielyn Didal? She is a professional skateboarder from Cebu who bagged the Gold Award during the Asian Games in 2018. She represented the country and earned the pride for the skateboarders who struggled to find a place fit for their hobby. She had also had her practice under this bridge. This space is made to the aspiring skateboarders like her. By this activity, the politicians are challenged to show support by providing enough and sufficient amount of care for the people like them.
On the other hand, worry no more if you feel uncomfortable and is about to explode, their is a room to release it. The toilet has two rooms for boys and girls. There is also a drum of water for cleaning.
I've talked a lot but there's more! (giggles)
There is this part that is elevated. I am not sure where is this relevant to but I bet this is part of the bridge' structure. There are rusty cables inside. This gives me hints how complicated the world of engineering is.
In the distance, there like a shipwrecked that's desolate. The ship is rusty and looked corroded. It was not used for years and left unattended.
From there, you can also see the progressive city of Lapu-Lapu. If you are that good at swimming, you can easily reach the other islet in minutes.
Lastly, to complete the experience and memories, take a selfie and keep it to be reminded that you've been to a place where you didn't expect to be amazing. After I discovered the place, I realized that judging based from hearsay or appearance can do no good at all. You have to get to know first.
How about you? How do you judge a person or a thing? And do you follow your judgements?
Thank you for reading this far. See you in my next blog. Have a good one! 💕
