Spending time at the beach is never a waste, especially during free time. Today, let's explore the northernmost part of Cebu City - Daan Bantayan, and Kawit. We will be visiting these two towns for an adventure-filled day. Join me as we follow our tropical vibrations and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
As I work for my corporate job in the city, I always make sure to come home in our province visit the beach and go for a swim every days off I get from work. Nothing compares to hearing the sound of the waves accompanied by the chirping birds while being kissed by the sun. The things I will never trade for.

♡Starting Point : Caduawan, Tabogon, Northern Cebu, Philippines♡
Honestly, we planned to go to Daan Bantayan, the Northernmost town in Cebu City and explore the beaches there. However, we don't have any specific locations or resort names in mind. I'm excited to visit any beach that's lesser of cost, where I can relax in the salt water and enjoy the sand and waves. I'm not too particular about the resorts or places to stay as long as they are not too crowded and provide me with peace of mind.
Bogo City Public Market (Bogo City, Cebu)
Our order of business task was to head to Bogo City Public Market to purchase some food for our lunch at the beach. While exploring the market, we came across a vendor selling fishes that looks perfect for grilling. I decided to purchase the trigger fish shown in the fourth photo, which had a distinctive green color. Surprisingly, I managed to snag one fish for ₱350.00. It is the perfect fish for grilling. I also bought one piece of pork belly to pair it.
Seafoods Overload!
I am such a fan of sea urchins, so we searched the market for sea urchins, and luckily, we found a stall that sold one. I got a bottle of sea urchins.
We got all the things that we needed - fish, pork , sea urchins and charcoal. Time to head to our destination.

Mercedes Plantation Golf Course, Medellin, Cebu
I could not help it take a photo of the outside view of the Mercedes Plantation Golf Course in the town of Medellin, Northern Cebu, Philippines. The trees are giving you an out of the country vibe.
The Aisle of Medellin - KM111
The Aisle of Medellin is one of the most famous roads here in Northern Cebu. Many vloggers and riders come out here especially during Sundays.
Where To Go?
First stop, we went to Daan Bantayan, the northernmost town here in Cebu City. It is not our first time to be here and we have a spot we always hang out and enjoy the waves and the sea breeze.
♡Paypay, Daan Bantayan , Cebu♡
In the town of Daan Bantayan is a small barangay called Paypay and here is the spot we chose to enjoy the beach. The place is free of charge and has no admission, no cottages as well. We just brought our own mat where we could lay down. It is our second time to be here.
Photo Taken Last August 2023
This photo was when we first visited Paypay, Daan Bantayan. This beach spot then became one of our favorites. Not only it is free of admission, the beach here is perfect, it has clear water and such fine sand.
How to Get Here?
◎ If you are by private vehicle just stop by Paypay Elementary School, Paypay Daan Bantayan, Northern Cebu.
◎ At the opposite side of Paypay Elementary School, there is a small road that leads you to the beach, just follow that small road and you will then see the beach. There are a lot of spots here which are free.
Since we have our motorcycle, we love to go on road trips and go anywhere else we love. Mostly we had been going to beaches here in the Northern Cebu area. Northern Cebu, Philippines, has a lot to offer when it comes to beautiful beaches and scenic routes.
My son was being sun-kissed under the palm trees. He loved the spot where he was chilling while waiting for our food to be cooked.
Look at how resourceful my beau is! He grilled the fish using some branches of a tree as a griller and he used all the things around us he could possibly use to prepare our lunch.
LUNCH IS READY
This is one of the best lunches I had. Grilled trigger fish or pakul in our Cebuano language, grilled pork meat and a bottle of sea urchins. Why does grilled foods taste ten times better when eaten at the beach?
Low Tide
After almost an hour of swimming at the beach, it then turned into low-tide. We did not enjoyed it that much anymore so we decided to look for a resort available with swimming pool. We then rode our motorcycle and hit the road.
From Daan Bantayan, we then headed to the next barangay which is Kawit. Kawit is a small barangay under the town of Medellin. It was just a ten minute motorcycle ride to reach the next barangay.
We went here to Kawit months ago when we went to Sadagat Beach Camp, and on the way to Sadagat Beach Camp is a small resort and guest house. When we were at Sadagat Beach Camp, this place was still under construction but now, it is now open to the public and fully functional.
♡Elena’s Resort And Guest House - Kawit, Medellin, Northern Cebu, Philippines♡
How to Get Here At Elena’s Resort And Guest House - Kawit, Medellin, Northern Cebu, Philippines?
◎ If you are using your own private vehicle, you should visit barangay Kawit, in the town of Medellin.
◎ If you are heading from Kawit main, you will pass by Kawit Public Market and Kawit Cemetery.
◎ If you have Waze or Google Map just look for Sadagat Beach Camp because this guest house is just in the entrance of Sadagat Beach Camp and they are not yet findable on those applications.
Or if you are already in Kawit, just ask the locals where Elena’s Resort And Guest House is. Kawit is a small barangay and for sure people know mostly about the beach resorts and guest houses around them.
Here at Elena’s Resort And Guest House - Kawit, Medellin, Northern Cebu, Philippines, the pool use is one hundred pesos per head. Children below five years old are free of charge. Even if you don’t want to swim in their pool, they will still charge you an entrance fee of one hundred pesos so might as well enjoy their pool. We also rented tables and chairs for three hundred pesos. They had rooms available for overnight stays which I did not had the chance to ask how much because the caretaker was so busy and we did not get the chance to talk. They have a Facebook page and you can inquire the prices if you want to.
Function Hall
That building at the side of the pool is their function hall and again I am not sure of how much it’s price range is. We only came here for the pool.
Happy Faces☺︎♡
My cousin and his little family went here as well after an hour of us swimming in the pool, the original plan was they will follow us there at the beach at Paypay, Daan Bantayan, but because of the low-tide, we did not enjoyed it anymore and we looked for some other resort with a pool. Luckily we found one here in Kawit, Medellin. We all had so much fun. My cousin has a two-year old son and he had so much fun at the swimming pool. He is free of charge. There is a kid’s pool and an adult pool.
I had no more photos because my phone went on low battery and I forgot to bring my charger with me. At six o’clock in the evening, we finished dipping and we then went home to Caduawan, Tabogon, Cebu. It was like an hour to one hour and thirty minutes of motorcycle ride. We all enjoyed our adventure today. It was fun to visit Daan Bantayan and Medellin. What a beautiful neighboring town indeed. Hope you all have a daily dose of vitamin sea!☺︎♡
