I've been wanting to go to the beach since last year but since there's a pandemic, it's just quite a hassle to do so because of the requirements. Just recently tho, the government loosen up a bit and all they require is a registration for a QR code needed for contact tracing. So we can now travel easily for as long as we follow the protocols.
It was quite hard to plan with friends because of their conflicted schedules but luckily my bff just abruptly told me that her 3-days off will be a week after that time so we had no time to cancel. We planned and all ready to go!
Magnaga Waters Beach Resort
I've always wanted to come here because it looks chill and the place looks so nice. I already knew about this place since 2018-2019ish I think but I didn't have a lot of money back then haha. Now finally we were able to!
Magnaga Waters Beach Resort is located in Pantukan, Davao de Oro which is just 2 hours away from my city. It was pretty much easy to locate and one friend was able to visit here before so she's familiar with the place.
We arrived at 2pm on a Sunday and I didn't expect for a lot of people to be there even though there's a pandemic. I mean I know it was a weekend but the number of people still surprised me lol.
We went directly to the reception to get to our room.
The resort is very big! It's actually divided into two - on the left side (from the reception) is purely just beach area so there's so many tables in it if you want more nature vibe and on the right side (which we were at) are all the pool and restaurant and rooms are located.
Pathway going to the different types of rooms and function hall
We got a quad room, which has 4 beds inside. This part of the resort is really chill.
Since there were 5 of us, we just added 1 more bed. The room is not that big but okay enough for us. This was $125 per night.
They provided these essential stuff like toothbrush, soap, masks, and alcohol which was nice.
This is their function hall where books, board games, dart, pool, and some other stuff you could do when you're bored to death. We didn't use any of it tho since we just wanted to chill from the travel and from life stress.
Now let's go to the pool area...
This was a pretty nice area but nobody sat there for some reason lol. I guess they like other areas better (like the poolside).
This is the pool area. It was already getting dark and a big % of the people went home already (after the day tour) but still quite a lot of people left (for my taste LOL).
We went to the shore since there were plenty of people in the pool side. The sunset was also beautiful and we can't afford to miss it!
This is where I appreciate my iPhone 12 Pro a lot. It captured the sunset all while capturing the subjects nice as well. Also there was almost no light at this time (there were no torches or whatever there) but the iPhone was still able to capture it nice and light.
The flare that you see there is because of the camera protector (tempered glass) that I put on my phone and I just realized it when I got home. Wish I removed it lol but good pics anyways. The night mode of iPhone 12 Pro really stood out.
We swam a bit in the pool but most of the time I just went and chill on that chair drinking sex on the beach cocktail. It was also cold and windy so I didn't wanna be wet for a long time.
Also this is my first time wearing a bikini so yeah I'm working on my confidence!
The next day, we woke up early thinking the sunrise would be at the same spot. DUH! It's gonna be on the other side XD Pretty stupid to miss that simple detail haha but the photos were still nice anyway.
There was a free breakfast for all of us so we had our food and went back here afterwards.
There was literally no person there in the pool so we had the chance to swim a bit and take photos. The infinity pool looks good :3
The pool is actually pretty relaxing when no one else is there and the sun is up like this. I wish we went earlier though so we can be there longer.
After chilling a bit, we left and went at 111:30 am to the nearby city to eat our lunch. It was a pretty nice experience tho I really wish we stayed longer. The foods were okay-ish but the place is superb.
Til my next travel post!
Cheers.
