Being a Buddhist temple/complex, expect that there will be Buddha statues around. Having made little research about the place, I expected there will be a lot of statues in here. My expectations were apparently low lol. In total, there are 395 Buddha statues in the temple.
I love seeing this gateway. It looks like it's a portal to somewhere else. I mean, it is though. Behind that door are where all the other Buddha statues are located.
It would be so much more interesting if you knew the symbolism of all these. We studied art history back in college and I regret that I didn't pay attention to it. :D Not knowing what it symbolizes though still gives you a little hint of what it is or you'll have your own interpretation. The overall art here is truly amazing.
I only brought the 23mm f/2 lens with me that's why I can't really shoot wide enough. I have an 18-55mm f/2.6 (the "kit" lens) but I realized they give out a slight lower quality for some reason - I ain't having none of that. XD As they say, the prime lens are always so much better than the zoom ones.
Look at the details and how well they are carved!
Looks like a gateway to afterlife... :S
If you think you've seen enough Buddhas, well then there's more. :D
All of the Buddha images are covered in gold leaf. Except the black ones I guess?
They are really majestic to see and I love just how they shine, it tempts you to touch them lol but you can't. :D
