I recently visited Asa-Dam in Ilorin, Kwara State Nigeria, and it was quite surprising to see how much the place had changed because of the dry season.
During the rainy season, this area is always full of water. It usually gets so flooded that people don’t even try to cross, because the current can be very strong. But when I got there this time, everything was different. The water had dried up.
Places that used to be covered with water were now open and dry. The ground looked cracked in some parts, and you could easily walk through areas that would normally be impossible to pass during the rains. It almost felt like I was in a completely different place.
Seeing this made me think about how nature can change things so quickly. One season, the land is covered with water, and another season, it becomes dry and open. It really shows how powerful and unpredictable nature can be.
The people living around Asa-Dam are used to this kind of change. They adjust to the floods when the rain comes, and they also cope with the dryness when the water goes away.
For me, this visit was something I won’t forget. It showed me a different side of a place I thought I understood.
Thanks for stopping by my blog 🥰🥰🥰
