Another monastery its name is Bhumang Jumpling, we did not visit here as it was very different from our route. Instead we went to Shakya Dhiru Monastery. The monastery was established in 1073, it is a unique experience in itself to walk around the blue colored monastery and talk to the monks. After spending some time here, it is time for lunch. We come to the Beed market and have lunch at a restaurant. We eat dal-rice in lunch and after a little rest, we start again on our mission.
Zabsang Choekhor Ling Monastery located in Chauntra, this is also a hostel in which many monks take education of Buddhist religion. This monastery was inaugurated by the Dalai Lama in 2014. If someone needs a quiet place where one can meditate, then this place is perfect. Surrounded by pine forests, this monastery is a wonder of Buddhist artwork.
And finally we go to Sherabiling Monastery where we reach in 20 minutes. We plan to visit the monastery and have evening tea at a nearby cafe. We park our bicycles outside and go inside. As soon as we enter, there is a small shop at the gate in which artisans are making beads, coloring them . We stay there for a while and are overwhelmed by the sight.
Admiring the workmanship of the sculpture, we move forward and enter the courtyard of the Sherabiling Monastery. This huge monastery is home to around 750 monks. The specialty of Sherabiling is that there are so many beautiful stupas built at its gate as well, the stupas are right on the edge of the road and from here a very beautiful view of Dhauladhar is visible. And if you are here at sunset then you will get a golden view of the setting sun.
After visiting the monastery, we now want to do some jungle cycling, for which we go on a trail near the monastery where we cycle with the setting sun and click some great photos. We have a Canon camera with which we try a lot to take photographs. None of us have the skill to take photographs in low light, and that too when the aperture of our lens is 4.5.
Around 7 in the evening we come back home. Come and take a bath and after changing clothes, I have dinner. Later, while lying down, I think what a wonderful day today was. I remember the statue of Gautam Buddha located in all the monasteries. Buddha in whose name this religion was created. It is said that the maximum number of idols in the world are of Buddha. The different colors of all the monasteries represent the diversity in the world. Buddhist flags fluttering in the wind, mantras are chanted continuously in the mountains.
Now when I lie down with my eyes closed, I hear Buddhist mantras being chanted, it is as if I am sitting among monks, meditating like them, and like them, I am also calming my mind . I didn't know when I fell asleep while thinking about today's day.
