There is snow all the way, so I have to stop again and again for my guide. The guide says walk a little slowly, I can't walk so fast. The distance from Oak Camp to the summit is 4 km. I feel like running to reach the summit. Coming out of the forest, the summit is visible, I ask the guide to show me the way, I will go to the summit alone, you wait here for me.
The Kedarkantha Peak Summit
The guide who was sweating likes the idea. He happily says that you go, I will wait here. He shows me the way to go up. As soon as I know the way, I leave fast for the summit.
Our Guide showing me the way to Summit
The entire mountain is covered with snow and the road ahead looks very steep and covered with snow. Now I am alone and ignoring the snow, I am rapidly moving towards the summit. In my haste, I forget to bring my water bottle and now my throat is dry. I eat some snow and quickly cross the last 600m segment to reach the summit.

I am standing on the summit of Kedarkantha peak, the height of which is 3800 meters. There is a cool breeze at the top and the view from here has taken away all my tiredness. I smile and try to capture the 360 degree view from above.

Swargarohini mountain range visible from 3800meters
There are craters on the top and there is some snow. I try to identify the mountain peaks seen from above. Famous peaks like Kala Nag, Bandarpoonch, Gangotri, Johan Lee, Jorkanden and Swargarohini located in Himachal are visible. I feel happy seeing these mountains.
After spending about half an hour at the top, I start coming back down where the guide is waiting. In mountaineering course, we were taught gullsliding, I use the same technique while descending. Because of this technique, I come down very quickly. When I reach the guide, he says that you are very fast, just like the hill people.

From here we reach Oak Forest in the next 40 minutes where my friend Monu is. It's 4 o'clock, Monu says why not go down today itself? Both of us like his words and immediately after packing the camp, we start descending towards Sankri village.
We all have good speed when we unload, and on this side we cover this distance of 11 km in two and a half hours and reach Sankari village where our bike is parked. Our guide invites us to come home and asks us to sleep there. We give him 1500 rupees for his hard work. After having food at the guide's house, we come in sleeping bags.
The next day early in the morning we leave for home by riding on the bike. We come back home by 10 pm. On the way we get a jam of 3 hours. So this was my journey to Kedarkantha Peak. I hope you guys liked it. Please do give your feedback by commenting.
