4 October 2023, Searching for a missing trekker for 6 days but no one can understand where he disappeared in the mountains, today I had to go to Jogini Falls for the rescue operation. This place is located in Manali district of Himachal Pradesh at an altitude of 2450 meters. To reach here one has to trek about 2.5 km, which I completed in 20 minutes.
We 4 people left from Solang Valley in the morning, first of all we went to Manali where we had some work, after completing it we headed towards Jogini Waterfalls. Parking the car on the road, we set out on foot where the rescue team is present. The rain had troubled us a lot for many days and today finally after many days the weather cleared, it was sunny and the sky also looked absolutely blue.
Walking slowly, we cross small cafes built before the waterfall, tourists enjoy tea and Maggi here. From here the rock in which Jogini Falls is located looks like a sheer wall. Well, it would be more correct to call it a wall. A black rock face that would scare anyone. Anyway, after passing the local café, we reach a big boulder from where we still have to go up another 100 meters.
Standing here, I look at the beauty of the valley and click some photos. Because he was walking very slowly with me, I also had to slow down. But slowly but surely we soon reached the waterfall. This waterfall falls from a height of 2 km. It is difficult to say where so much water comes from in this spring which flows throughout the year. Today rescue is going on here so tourists are not allowed here, we are part of the rescue team so we were able to go to the waterfall.
Upstairs the dead body was being dragged and downstairs we were talking to the police department. This waterfall really falls from a great height, and let me tell you one thing, there is so little water at the origin of this waterfall that you can cross it wearing shoes, and I have crossed it from above many times.
The story behind Jogini Falls is that fairies reside here, if anyone comes here on a moonless night, he gets hypnotized and can lose his senses and lose his life. Well, I don't believe in this because I have come here many times at 12 o'clock on a new moon night and nothing like this has ever happened to me.
Before sunset we start descending, while descending we tell all the tourists not to go up today, today the waterfall is closed for tourists. At 4 o'clock we come to the car and drive to the hotel room. So this is how today ends.
