HI,
This is a tamarind tree. Its scientific name is ' Tamarindus indica L.' This plant belongs to the group of fruit crops. Often this fruit has a sour taste. I found this tree in the Tangalle area of Hambantota district in Sri Lanka. These plants grow abundantly under that ecosystem.
These plants grow to a maximum height of about 25 meters.
And this plant prefers acidic soils. The wood of this branch is very hard. The leaves here are very small and the leaves shrivel up at night. Due to its high phenolic content and being an antioxidant, it also ranks high in terms of medicinal properties. Also, tamarind fruit is widely used in cooking. And strong sunlight is also a special factor for the good growth of these plants.
