As the sky reaches the sea, and as the sea reaches the soul of a human that’s being chased by the beauty of nature…
What’s up my dear Hiver’s! It’s me #xoloveshoney your travel buddy for today’s blog. Well, well, well it is another day to share to you another travel blog. And aside from sharing you here about the place, I would want to take this opportunity to tell you about the amusing things we did throughout this trip.
For me, this is one of the clearest beach here in Cebu and this is somehow perfect if you wanted to have a vacation away from the city. It is safe and clean. Hermit’s Cove is located at Kantabogon Road, Aloguinsan, Cebu. If you want to have this place on your travel bucket list, below are the details so you can have an idea for you next itinerary.

OVERNIGHT AVAILABLE
5:00 P.M Onwards/Overnight - ₱200
Tent Rental Pax for 3pax - ₱200
Or bring your own tent - ₱50

HOW TO GET THERE:
If via private car, use waze app to help you navigate.
If via commute, ride a bus at the Cebu South Bus Terminal going to Aloguinsan. Stop at the town’s market and ride a tricycle/motor to get to Hermit’s
When you arrived to the place, you will surely mesmerized by it’s beautiful landscape. It is like a one whole piece of canvass where you can see a green mountain and translucent sky-colored sea. And to my surprise, before you reached the sea, you got to step down a few steps of the stairs and from there you can see the view.
So yeah! Before anything else, we unpacked all our things and foods and my friend also took a time to assemble the tent and we actually brought our own tent so there’s no need for us to rent and it’s a saving tip, right? It was a very fine weather, sunny but windy so it was absolutely a perfect day to hangout. It was really a day full of enjoyment as we spend the whole day chatting, cooking and swimming.
Hermit’s Cove also has a "kantil" or a sudden drop/slope of the ocean floor where the water changes its color. For thrill-seekers or extreme divers, it may be a good spot to swim. My husband took his snorkeling gear to experience seeing the clean, clear and rich water with a lot of corals and fishes! Some will never understand why we keep coming back here unless you actually see the beauty of this paradise in person.
It was actually a blessing to have this kind of beach that is affordable yet majestic place. I was even amazed knowing that their cottages are free of charge unlike other beaches and resorts. And the local people are also the one who takes good care of the beach. They are the one who cleans everyday and manages the place. Basically, the entrance fee will be their salary and maintenance of the place. So it is all in one go because while maintaining the place, they could also provide work to the local people.
Just remember to manage you expectations because this place lacks amenities but surely it has a comfort room and shower area but as for the shower area you need to pay 10 pesos for an unlimited fresh water in a bucket. All-in-all the place is 10-10 for me because this is the perfect place for me to unwind and relax. Somehow, it showcase the true beauty of nature without damaging the area.
If you wanted to try some activities, they also offer kayaking for only 300 pesos. And if you wanted to visit nearby beaches you can also rent a boat that will take you to there like the Bojo River. The funny thing here is that until now I don’t know how to swim but I really love going to the beach. I don’t even mind trying out the beach activities as long as I do have my life vest support on me.
I sincerely hope that wonderful beach will not change throughout the years. I really wanted to visit this place again and again because it always have a special place in my heart. And I hoped it would remain unaltered for the many years to come.
