It’s a wrap! Sharing you here another happy place to visit!
I never cease to be amazed by the beautiful beaches here in Cebu. It’s like a holy grail therapy that you really wanted all throughout the day. No wonder, Cebu is called the Queen City of the South because it has a lot of natural wonders.
This island is underrated and it shows the real paradise that you can witness. Crystal-blue water, sugary white sand and majestic scenery. This is the Virgin Island (Bantayan Island) located on the northern side of Cebu in the Philippines. Virgin Island captivated me not only for its beautiful beaches but it also gave me the therapy I want upon escaping the busy city.
In this blog, I’m going to cover on what to expect in this place and how to get there. Before anything else, in travelling, I suggest to plan ahead your itinerary (Travel plan is a must) in planning your itinerary makes your trip smooth and less hassle because it is important to manage your time in visiting places and to avoid unforeseen circumstances.
How to get there?
📌Book your flight going to Mactan International Airport.
📌Ride a My Bus (50pesos) or taxi (ranging 250pesos for the meters) outside airport going to
SM City Cebu north bus terminal.
📌Ride a Ceres Bus (245pesos) going to Hagnaya Port.
📌 From Hagnaya port ride a ferry going to Santa Fe Port, Bantayan Island (305pesos)
📌Once you get here in Santa Fe port be ready your confirmed booking, QR codes,Valid I.D
📌 Pay 30pesos for ecological fee
📌 Ride a tricycle going to your accomodation or contact your resort/hotel for their free pick up and drop off service.
I travel together with my husband’s family and friends. All of us are a first-time visitor of the place and we really had a great time and we enjoy the vacation. So, what I did first is I booked a hotel accommodation in advance to get a promotion. We stayed at Rica’s Space Bantayan for only 1,200 pesos per night in one room good for two guests.
STANDARD Rate: 1200/night Occupancy: 2 (charge of extra pax if more than 2 Max Capacity: 4
DELUXE Rate: 2000/night Occupancy: 4 (charge of extra pax if more than 4 Max Capacity: 6
FAMILY Rate: 2500/night Occupancy: 6 (charge of extra pax if more than 6 Max Capacity: 10
SUPERIOR Rate: 3000/night Occupancy: 8 (charge of extra pax if more than 8 Max Capacity: 14
*300 per extra pax (one-time payment up to 2 nights, 3 days) with FREE extra foam and pillow.
If you location is not a walking distance, you can take a tricycle going to the beach from your accommodation. When you get there, there is someone who offers bangka or boat ride going to the island and you can also negotiate on the individual rates especially if you are in a group.
As soon as we stepped out, we really appreciate its beauty so we took a lot of pictures. You can also do a lot of things here like swimming, snorkeling, and cliff jumping. And also, there was plenty of space that you can leave your belongings on the cottages. So, all throughout the day we spent hours of swimming and a gentle jumping it was long enough for me to get a little sunburnt.
I really can’t deny its beauty and how clean the island is. It is literally a virgin island because the place is sacred itself. What I really hope in the long run is for it to be protected and conserve. It was a fun experience!
As we went back to our hotel room, we had time chitchatting and had our dinner. And after that, the group decided to have a night stroll. Taking an evening strolls feels like a little different specially in an island place because the cold air breeze is so refreshing. We also got to see these floating paper lanterns along the road inspired in Japanese Floating Lantern Festival.
Despite of the cold-air outside, I still got to ate an ice cream and guess what, it tastes so delicious.
So yeah!
I’ve visited a lot of local places but Bantayan Island hits different because the place itself really defines the tropical vibe. If you are fun of night life thing, then bantayan was never left out with this as they also have an area with live music and drinks. So can never go wrong in choosing Bantayan Island as your next Travel Bucket List.
