My father turned 52 last November 29 and he always wanted to visit Bukidnon for the longest time. And now that we have our own car, we could finally go to the place he's always wanted to travel to.
Dahilayan Adventure Park
After 9 hours of traveling, we finally reached our first destination which was Dahilayan Adventure and Forest Park.
Dahilayan Adventure Park is located in Manolo Fortich in Bukidnon, it is at the foot of Mount Kitanglad, so you could say that it was pretty cold up there.
After paying the fees, we were able to enter the park which was truly breathtaking.
Going down, there were tons of towering pine trees that were so tall, they could reach the skies! The entire park is covered with these pine trees which really contrasted the vibe as we went further into the park which was filled with people, rides, and tons of attractions.
The first attraction which was super famous in Dahilayan was this refilling station which was riddled with stunning vintage cars. Inside the station was Jessie's Diner which is an American-inspired vintage food place where you select from a great selection of snacks, entrees, and drinks.
In front of the vintage cars is a beautiful view of pine trees above, and a view of the train station which you had to pay to ride. But the tiger-patterned car you see is just one of the vehicles which transported people back and from the rides because Dahilayan is such a big and steep area to cover on foot.
Behind Jessie's Diner are these statues of animals that completely blends in with the green-luscious environment of the park. These animals are placed all throughout the park!
Speaking of rides, both Dahilayan Adventure and Forest Park had tons of rides to go on. Dahilayan Forest Park was more one actual rides like go-karts, ATV, buggies, and bumper boats while the Dahilayan Adventure Park rides were more on ziplines, dropzones, and sky jumps.
We opted to go on the rides in the forest park as they were more affordable and they were less terrifying for a person who was afraid of heights. They had a package option for rides in which you could go on five rides for only 750 pesos per person.
First Ride
I forgot the name of this ride as it was not included in the package, but I could remember that we paid 150 pesos per person on this ride. Basically, we were pushed off the platform and slid along their slippery lego-looking slide. My brother and I were going so fast, luckily, they had small patches of grass to slow us down before we got to the end.
Hanging Bridge
Yes, you read that right. This height-fearing 20-year-old went on the Hanging Bridge because I wanted to face my fears and because it was included on the package, and it would be a waste to not go on it.
The bridge was made wobbly by my sister to terrify me even more by swinging side by side. I kid you not, I was screaming the entire time I was on the bridge. I got very scared in the middle that I was out of breath for some time, once I was close to the end, I ran and swore to never get on another hanging bridge ever again.
Forest Luge
This ride was the most fun I had. Basically, we were transported to the top of the forest park, and there, we were allowed to choose among different colored karts that we had to push to move forward and pull to break.
The path was very curved and was so steep that we were traveling at considerable high-speeds for karts that had no power, and relied solely on gravity. Another great thing about this ride was that, it was for two rounds.
We (me, my brother, my sister, and her boyfriend) all raced to the bottom. My younger brother won lol.
Go-Kart
We rode this car-looking cart around a circular path. We were allowed up to three laps around the course.
Again, we raced around the track, and I won.
Bumper Boat
The bumper boat is such a fun and unique ride! It's basically the water version of bumper cars. We rode in this circular boat and had to steer away or towards people to push them.
Because we purchased the package version, we were told to sit two people per boat, and so me and my brother were in one boat while my sister and her boyfriend was in the other.
We purposefully bumped each other and eventually, we all got slightly wet. But don't worry though, the speeds that these boats can travel is not much that you could topple people over their boats. And they always have staff watching.
Mini-Golf
The last activity from the package we bought. This was such a great ending to our super fun stay at Dahilayan. We played golf along the beautiful 18-hole mini-golf course. Each hole is more daunting than the last.
The course was beautifully designed and there were tons of fish in the mini ponds on the golf course.
Going Home
After all the fun and games, it was finally time to go home. But we still had time to take pictures of all the attractions we had not yet visited. Such as this playground designed for all children to have fun in.
Another was this view deck which had a beautiful view of the park.
The last one was this hidden gem at the very end of the Forest Park. A hidden area that was riddled with picnic areas covered with these towering pine trees. The place was so cool, metaphorically and literally.
Thank you for reading my post! Check out part 2 or our travel in my upcoming blog.
