Hello dear readers! Today, I'm going to share with you my quick escape to the famous "sunflower farm" in the southern part of Cebu. It's the first time I have ever seen a sunflower in my entire life and I fell in love with it's beauty.
The Mt. Talongon Sunflower farm in Sitio Alang-Alang, Mantalongon, Dalaguete, Cebu features sunflower and other imported flowers often referred as the "Little Baguio of Cebu." It opens daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a 50 pesos entrance fee.
During our visit to the Sunflower Farm it was under renovation, but fortunately the caretaker still allowed us to enter for free.
I grabbed the chance to take some selfies with the sunflower.
Here is the step by step direction to travel from my Municipality of Ronda to Dalaguete;
- Catch any Southbound bus from the Main Road of Ronda haeding towards to Dalaguete.
- Drop off to Dalaguete Public Market.
- Proceed to habal-habal terminal in the market.
- Tell the habal-habal driver to take you to Mt. Talongon Sunflower Garden in Sitio Alang-Alang
- The ride takes 30-45 minutes. Make sure to arrange a return trip to the driver.
Another step by step guide from Cebu City to Dalaguete:
- Go to Cebu South Bus Terminal.
- Take a Bus heading to Bato via Dalaguete.
- Ask the driver to drop you in the Dalaguete Public Market.
- Travel time is 2 and a half hour to three hours and it cost from 120 to 150 pesos for one way.
- Proceed to habal-habal terminal in the market.
- Tell the habal-habal driver to take you to Mt. Talongon Sunflower Garden in Sitio Alang-Alang
- The ride takes approximately 30-45 minutes. Make sure to arrange a return trip to the driver.
Visiting this sunflower farm reminds me that even in the midst of challenges, there's a direction to grow toward and light to follow. It gives me a sense of calm and solemnity, a gentle reminder to embrace life just like the sunflowers embrace the sun. I can't wait to visit this sunflower farm again once the renovation is complete and see it in all it's full glory.
And that's all for today's blog travel story. Enjoy reading folks!
