Our first day was packed as we traveled all the way from Manila to Clark International Airport for our chartered flight to Batanes. It was a quick stop at the accommodation, then the tour began.
The first day was packed as we got to visit a lot of places. I have split the day one tour into two posts. This is part one.
Chawa View Deck
A few minutes after our hotel dropoff, we quickly got refreshed and changed into new OOTDs. A quick breakfast later then we were off to a packed full day tour schedule. First stop was Chawa View Deck, which our tour guide Ms Hilda mentioned was likened to Amalfi Coast in Italy. The sun was in hiding so we were able to enjoy the outdoors more. While here, everything still seemed surrealistic for me that I was actually in Batanes.

San Carlos Borromeo Parish
Second stop was the San Carlos Borromeo Church. You'll notice that most local tours include a visit to the local Catholic church, which are well known for their history and architectural designs. This church has a Virgin Mary with an original ivory head from the Spanish times. Beside was a library with blank books. Visitors are encouraged to write their story in one of the books. I will go back again one day to write mine.

Rakuh a Payaman
Also popularly known as Marlboro Country, this place has such breathtaking view. It was too windy though, that somehow also left us breathless. LOL! Mind blown by the beauty of Batanes. This was the place to get close to nature, but you have to be prepared for a lot of trekking. We didn't hike till the end of the hills, although we probably should have. We also stopped for lunch here. They have a big cottage by the entrance to the hills that cater to tour groups.

Alapad Rock Formation
According to our guide, there was an 80's movie that was shot in this location. It was such a sight to behold. During our stop here, the sun came out of its hiding, so it was pretty sunny. It actually made for nice photos for the place. There's an old USCG LORAN station that is being converted to a museum now. I do wonder if it has been completed. It was a work in progress when we were there last year.

House of Dakay
The oldest existing stonehouse in Batanes located in Ivana. It can only be handed down to heirs of the original owners. There are still folks living there right now, so we only took photos from the outside.

Honesty Cafe
Honesty Coffeeshop & souvenirs was where visitors could ring up their own purchases. It's self-serve all throughout. I guess we got excited that we didn't get to take photos inside. This was also where we purchased souvenirs for friends and family.
