Hello travelers of the 
Today I have the pleasure of inviting you to discover and walk the streets of the province of Ciego de Ávila, from its urban styles, landscapes, and the natural environment of the everyday local. I will also take you on a tour of its colonial architecture, boulevard, old buildings, and wide streets that encourage you to stroll unhurriedly until sunset.

Hoy tengo el placer de invitarlos a conocer y caminar las calles de la provincia de Ciego de Ávila, desde sus estilos urbanísticos, paisajes y ambiente natural del avileño de a pie. También les presentaré un recorrido por la arquitectura colonial, boulevar, edificios antiguos y calles amplias que motivan a andar sin prisa hasta el atardecer.
Espero les gusten las avenidas y disfruten cada uno de esto diseños con mezcla urbana y cotidiana. ¡Acompáñame en este maravilloso recorrido!
Being at the height of my home, beneath the presence of a rainbow, this walk came to mind. There I developed the idea of going out to look for photographs and weather-inspired styles, driven by the storm and the sun.
My city is a modern metropolis, although in the historic center many features of the typical colonial architecture of the region stand out.
Estando en la altura de mi hogar, bajo la presencia de un arcoíris, se me ocurrió este paseo. Allí desarrollé la idea de salir a buscar fotografías y estilos del clima, inspirado por la tempestad y el sol.
Mi ciudad es una urbe moderna, aunque en el casco histórico se resaltan muchos rasgos de la arquitectura colonial típica de la región.
Everything happened so fast that I went out in flip-flops lol. The neighborhood corner looks clean and tidy, with classic floors and light traffic. The bicycle taxis and pedestrians reflect the slow pace of the town, that place where modernity coexists with deep-rooted traditions.
As you can see, it's an environment with very little economic development, but with good people and a desire to get ahead.
Todo ocurrió tan rápido que salí en chancletas jj. La esquina del barrio se aprecia limpia y ordenada, con suelos clásicos y un tránsito ligero. Los bicitaxis y los peatones reflejan el ritmo pausado del pueblo, ese lugar donde la modernidad convive con tradiciones arraigadas.
Como se observa es un ambiente de muy poco desarrollo económico, pero con buenas personas y ganas de salir delante.
Then I continued on my journey to watch a luxurious sunset like today's, entering through the boulevard.
This main area will always be among my favorites, located along the commercial center of "Independencia" street, designed with modern or functional elements and existing heritage values, characterized by eclectic architecture.
It features interesting sculptures, streetlamps, galleries, PDL shops, hotels, restaurants, and important cultural events that take place throughout the year.
Luego me dirigí a seguir mi travesía para observar un atardecer de lujo como el de hoy, entrando por el boulevar.
Esta zona principal siempre será de mis favoritas, enclavado a lo largo del centro comercial de la calle "Independencia", concebido con elementos modernos o funcionales y valores patrimoniales existentes, que se caracterizan por una arquitectura ecléctica.
Presenta interesantes esculturas, faroles, galerías, tiendas PDL, hoteles, restaurantes y escenarios importantes culturales que se efectúan durante todo el año.
Leaving the historic center, I followed the light of the golden sunset. As the afternoon went on, the sun paints the city with warm tones that transform every corner: from the historic facades to the most modern buildings.
The streets become more residential: uneven sidewalks, electrical poles, and low-rise housing, near the baseball stadium. Some areas show worn facades, vacant lots, or constructions in progress, revealing the contrasts of the Avileña city.
Saliendo del casco histórico, pues seguí la luz del atardecer dorado. A medida que avanzaba la tarde, el sol pinta la ciudad con tonos cálidos que transforman cada rincón: desde las fachadas históricas hasta los edificios más modernos.
Las calles se vuelven más residenciales: aceras irregulares, postes eléctricos y viviendas de baja altura, cerca del Estadio de béisbol. Algunas zonas muestran fachadas desgastadas, solares abiertos o construcciones en proceso, lo que evidencia los contrastes de la ciudad Avileña.
This district is called the ballplayers' buildings, home to many family members and athletes, a very quiet space.
One of the most striking aspects of the tour is the constant presence of nature and parks, adding authenticity.
Este distrito es nombrado los edificios de los peloteros, alberga una gran parte de los familiares y deportistas, un espacio bastante tranquilo.
Uno de los aspectos más llamativos del recorrido es la presencia constante de la naturaleza y parques, aportando autenticidad.
In almost all the places you'll see around here, if you look closely, there are many planted flower beds, green lawns, and ornamental heritage features, as they adorn every open grandstand for political events.
These squares are embraced by soccer fans, the trees are perfectly pruned, lining the avenues and looking very beautiful.
En casi todos los lugares que verán por esta parte, si se fijan hay muchas jardineras sembradas, césped verdes y patrimonios ornamentales, ya que adorna toda tribuna abierta para actos políticos.
Estas plazas son acogidas por los fanáticos del fútbol, los árboles están perfectamente podados alineando avenidas y bien bellos.
Very close by is Radio Surco station, from the Avileña capital of Cuban broadcasting, promoting popular tradition, the revival of cultural events, and defending the identity of the province.
You'll also find the Ciego de Ávila Television center, which broadcasts weekly to viewers historical programs, local news, sports, and children's content.
Muy cerca se ubica la Emisora Radio Surco, desde la capital Avileña de la locución cubana, promueve la tradición popular, el rescate de eventos culturales y defensora de la identidad de la provincia.
También se encuentra el centro de la Televisión de Ciego de Ávila, donde se transmite semanalmente a los espectadores, espacios históricos, noticias locales, deportes e infantiles.
Reaching the end, there is the city park, with its most urbanized areas, gentle vegetation, and a landscape that brings freshness. The image of the bohío (traditional hut) with a thatched palm roof surrounded by royal palms evokes a direct connection with the rural, integrated into the urban environment.
I should mention that "El Campesino" restaurant had a disaster 5 months ago when it burned down completely due to the cook's negligence. It is now close to full recovery and reopening.
Llegando al final, está el parque de la ciudad, con sus zonas más urbanizadas, la vegetación suave y el paisaje que aporta frescura. La imagen del bohío con techo de guano rodeado de palmas reales evoca una conexión directa con lo rural, integrada dentro del entorno citadino.
Les comentaré que este restaurante el campesino, tuvo un desastre hace 5 meses donde se quemó por completo, por un descuido del cocinero, ya está pronto a la recuperación total e inauguración.
The space is not just a recreational area, but a complex for the little ones, couples, families, and cultural events that serves as a meeting point for locals and visitors alike.
In this little corner, many children also come to play with their parents, do yoga exercises, and even fly kites thanks to the good wind it offers.
El espacio, no es solo un área recreativa, sino un complejo para los más pequeños, parejas, familiares y culturales que funciona como punto de encuentro para avileños y visitantes.
En este pedacito, vienen además muchos niños a jugar con sus padres, realizar ejercicios de Yoga y hasta empinar papalotes por el buen viento que ofrece.
These photos of the lake captured all my attention; they express a tranquility and a unique vibe.
The amount of aquatic plants it has is impressive, called water lilies, camalote, or simply by their scientific name "Eichhornia crassipes." Their flowers are very beautiful, light violet in color.
Estas fotografías del lago, captaron toda mi atención expresa una tranquilidad y una vibra única.
Es impresionante la cantidad de plantas acuáticas que tiene, nombradas lirio de agua, camalote o simplemente su nombre científico "Eichhornia crassipes" . Sus flores son bien bellas de color violeta claro.
Now heading back home after this long but pleasant walk.
The golden sunset light bathes the trunks and foliage, giving the journey a more serene feel. There are wide expanses of tree-lined paths and grounds for conversation. The photos express a serene horizon, ideal for disconnecting and connecting with nature in general.
Saliendo ya de regreso a mi hogar, de esta extensa caminata, pero agradable.
La luz solar dorada del atardecer baña los troncos y el follaje, dándole un aire más sereno al trayecto. Hay amplias extensiones de alamedas y suelos para conversar. Las fotografías expresan un horizonte sereno, ideal para desconectar y conectar con la naturaleza en general.
This visual walk shows that Ciego de Ávila doesn't need great monuments to captivate.
Its charm lies in the everyday—the charm of its streets, the calm of its urban rhythm, and the blend of environment, colonial architecture, and daily life make it unique and valuable.
Este paseo visual demuestra que Ciego de Ávila no necesita grandes monumentos para cautivar.
Su encanto reside en lo cotidiano, el encanto de sus calles, la calma de su ritmo urbano y la mezcla entre medio ambiente, arquitectura colonial y vida diaria, lo hacen ser exclusivo y valioso.
