Hello travelers of the 
Today I have the pleasure of inviting you to walk through the most attractive park in my city, Ciego de Ávila, but this time in a different way—accompanied by my younger brother—exploring its urban design, landscapes, waterfront, and natural environment. I will also share images of some places decorated for this Christmas season, all the way until sunset.
I hope you enjoy the journey and appreciate every one of these park landscapes and facilities. Join me on this wonderful tour !

Hoy tengo el placer de invitarlos a caminar el parque más atractivo de mi ciudad Ciego de Ávila, pero esta vez de una manera diferente, en compañía de mi hermano menor, aprendiendo desde sus estilos urbanísticos, paisajes, malecón y ambiente natural del lugar. También les presentaré imágenes de algunos centros adornados para esta navidad hasta el atardecer.

This walk was more about clearing my mind of personal problems that have affected me these last few months, and of the disloyalty from some people. To start, we will walk all along Máximo Gómez Street, which leads directly to the park.
After 4:30 PM, the absence of people on the streets becomes noticeable—the public is leaving their workplaces and daily tasks to head home. I always appreciate these long walks at the end of the day; they help me relax a bit from the daily stress and are good for my health.
Este paseo fue más bien para despejar de problemas personales que me han afectado estos últimos meses y falta de lealtad a unas personas. Para comenzar, atravesaremos toda la calle Máximo Gómez que lleva directo al parque.
Ya pasada las 4:30 de la Tarde se nota, la ausencia de personal en las calles, el público saliendo se sus trabajos y labores del día para dirigirse a sus hogares. Siempre aprecio estas largas caminatas al terminar la jornada, me relajan un poco del estrés diario y son buenas para mi salud.
As we approached the main attraction, my brother wanted to take some artistic photos at Camilo Cienfuegos Plaza—a space for political acts, revolutionary events, marches, and festivals, still well-preserved with its green gardens and tall palm trees.
Nowadays, as the sun goes down, it is taken over by soccer fans who gather to enjoy and play this spectacular international sport.
Ya acercándonos al centro de atracción, mi hermano quiso tomarse algunas fotos artísticas en la plaza Camilo Cienfuegos, un espacio para actos políticos, eventos revolucionarios, marchas y festivales, aún bien conservada con sus jardines verdes y altas palmeras.
Actualmente son acogidas por los fanáticos del fútbol, al bajar el sol, para disfrutar y jugar este espectacular deporte internacional.
Moving into the City Park, we took the path lined with royal palms that leads to the heart of the place. Ah, but well—my brother managed to capture a playful photo of me with the horse, just for fun haha.
Now, getting to what we came for: historically, this park was an abandoned area where people only came to fish in the lake that stretches across it. This overgrown, empty field has been transformed into a pleasant reflection of Ciego de Ávila’s pride.
Adentrándonos al Parque de la Ciudad, pues cogimos por el sendero de las palmas reales que se dirige al corazón del sitio. Ahhh pero bueno mi hermano le toco captar una fotografía mía con el caballo en forma de juego jjj.
Ya pasando a lo que vinimos, el parque en su historia era un lugar abandonado, donde solo se pescaba en el lago que abarca. Este descampado lleno de matorrales se ha transformado en un agradable reflejo del orgullo de Ciego de Ávila.
Around the artificial lake, walking paths have been laid out, thatched-roof restaurants have been built, thematic sculptures have been created, and two old steam trains have been restored in memory of the city's transportation history. Additionally, it offers boat rides, children's play areas, and spaces for sports practice.
Alrededor del lago artificial se han señalizado caminos, construido restaurantes tipo ranchón, creado esculturas temáticas y desempolvado dos viejos trenes de vapor en recuerdo de la historia del transporte de la ciudad. Además, cuenta con paseos en bote, zonas para juegos infantiles y prácticas de deporte.
We continued our stroll. The fresh air and the greenery of the trees invited us to walk without haste. The newly built waterfront, which borders the lake, offers charming views with blue paths winding through the tropical vegetation.
In this little stretch, many children come to play with their parents, practice yoga, and even fly kites thanks to the favorable winds here.
Seguimos la rutina, el aire fresco y el verde de los árboles nos invitan a caminar sin prisa. El malecón creado, que bordea las aguas del lago, ofrece vistas encantadoras, con senderos azules que serpentean entre la vegetación tropical.
En este pedacito, vienen muchos niños a jugar con sus padres, realizar ejercicios de Yoga y hasta empinar papalotes por el buen viento que ofrece.
Walking through well-maintained areas as lights began to timidly turn on, we passed by rustic structures, decorations, and spaces where families and friends shared laughter and drinks.
The park knew we were in the holiday season. We passed by one of the most iconic spots: the Floating Restaurant, inaugurated in 2012. It offers good service, though there is room for improvement. The food is excellent, but its pricing should reflect higher quality. Its location is its main attraction for visitors. The menu is undoubtedly broader than other places and features exemplary Cuban cocktails like piña colada, mojito, and Cuba libre.
Caminando entre áreas bien cuidadas y luces que empezaban a encenderse tímidamente. Pasamos cerca de estructuras rústicas, adornos y espacios donde familias y amigos compartían risas y bebidas.
El parque sabía que estábamos en fechas festivas. Pasamos por uno de los centros más emblemático, el Restaurante Flotante, inaugurado en 2012. Contiene un buen servicio, aunque puede mejorar. La comida es excelente, pero con respecto a precios debería ser superior. La ubicación es su principal atracción al público. El menú es más amplio que otros sitios sin duda y establece una coctelería cubana ejemplar como piña colada, mojito y Cuba libre.
The pier over the water offered a perfect panorama to pause and admire the sky's reflection—and well, my brother decided he wanted me to take some more creative photos of him.
The golden sunlight of the sunset bathes the tree trunks and foliage, giving the walk an even more serene atmosphere. There are wide stretches of grass and areas along the shore for fishing. The photographs capture a tranquil horizon, ideal for disconnecting and connecting with the nature of Avileña.
El muelle sobre el agua regalaba una panorámica perfecta para detenerse a contemplar el reflejo del cielo y bueno mi hermano optó por que le tomara otras imágenes creativas.
La luz solar dorada del atardecer baña los troncos y el follaje, dándole un aire más sereno al paseo. Hay amplias extensiones de césped y suelos para practicar la pesca. Las fotografías expresan un horizonte sereno, ideal para desconectar y conectar con la naturaleza avileña.
A bit further ahead is the food service unit "El Avión," an indoor restaurant known for its excellent Creole cuisine. Right now, I can't tell you if it's open—when I approached to take photos, I found it completely closed. But in its active days, it was quite popular in the park.
It featured windows offering panoramic views while you ate, access to restrooms, Caribbean cocktails, and good music to brighten your stay.
Más adelante, está la unidad gastronómica "El Avión" un restaurante interno con excelentes servicios de comida criolla, ahora mismo no puedo decirles que esté funcionando porque me acerque para realizar las fotos y vi todo cerrado, pero en su época activa tenía popularidad en el parque.
Este contaba con ventanillas para vistas panorámicas mientras almorzabas, acceso a baños, tragos caribeños y buena música para alegrar la estancia.
As my tour comes to an end, there's the well-known 'Ranchón Sabor Cubano', an excellent open-air spot with a varied menu in every sense and hours extending into the night—offering family dinners and a disco that goes until 2 in the morning. It’s a very safe and friendly atmosphere.
It has 24-hour parking, and from its surroundings, you can see planes and trains donated to the site, adding more stories and attracting both national and international visitors.
Ya culminando mi recorrido está el conocido Ranchón Sabor Cubano, un excelente lugar al aire libre, con un menú variado en todos los sentidos y horarios hasta la noche con cenas familiares y discoteca hasta las 2 de la madrugada. Es un ambiente muy seguro y amigable.
Tiene sus parqueos las 24 horas, y a sus alrededores vista de aviones y trenes donados al lugar para acoger más historias y público nacional e internacional que los visite.
I went a little closer to see how beautiful the Christmas and holiday decorations looked. But I couldn’t stay for long—all the staff were dressed very elegantly, and we were just in our casual sportswear from our walk.
Me acerque un poco más para ver lo bonito que había quedado la decoración por navidad y felices fiestas. Pero no podía estar mucho tiempo, pues estaba todo el personal muy elegante y nosotros de paseos con ropa deportiva.
Walking is a healthy passion, and seeing Ciego de Ávila's city park at sunset isn't just an ordinary attraction—it's a slow sigh of light traffic, a golden poem painted between parks and avenues, between history and nature.
This walk with my brother at this hour is a reminder that even in the daily routine, and in simply talking, there is beauty waiting to be found all around us.
Caminar es una pasión saludable y el ver el parque de la ciudad Ciego de Ávila al atardecer no es solo un lugar común de atracción; es un suspiro lento de poco tránsito, un poema dorado pintado entre parques y avenidas, entre historia y naturaleza.
Este paseo con mi hermano a esta hora es recordar que incluso en la rutina diaria para sólo conversar, hay belleza esperando ser encontrada en sus alrededores.
