Aloha wanderers!
Because it's the weekend, let's get on with another adventure in a theme park in Shenzhen, China called the "Window of the World."
Last time, we had our whirlwind trip to Paris where we have been mesmerized by the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe and enjoyed more of France through the Colosseum and many others. We also made it to the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour.
And then we went around the US where we got the chance to visit the Liberty Island, sighted the Grand Canyon, and even checked out the Niagara Falls before we found ourselves in Egypt for the Pyramids. Then we got to Asia where we have seen many wonders around, including ancient palaces and some gardens too.
And today, we are headed to Russia and a few other places too, yay! The farmboy is already in the driver's seat waiting for us to rock and roll so let's go! This is going to be exciting! (I hope...)
The first leg of the journey brought us to Russia and what's best to see there than one of its palaces - The Winter Palace in Saint Petersburg!
I can't even begin to imagine how many hours or days or months the artist or architect spent to finish this masterpiece, but it must have been really painstaking. The details on the windows and pillars and everything else is just astounding.
I have not personally seen the real Winter Palace but this miniature of it fascinated me already so how much more when I get to see the real one?
Another scene found around the area was the Kizhi Pogost which included wooden dwelling houses, the Wooden Church, and a bell tower. The real ones in Russia are known for their beauty and longevity despite being made entirely of wood.
And yes, the design details also fascinated me. Just look at these! This type of work needs a whole lot of patience, creativity, and yes, more patience!
I got quite lost there in contemplation... I wondered, but these really resembled the real ones in Russia, not that I've seen them personally, but on photos :)
Anyway, these were very interesting enough, and glad we were able to see them albeit just replicas and miniatures.
Another fascinating structure was the copy of the 'Stonehenge' of England. The rocks and stones were huge!
They must have used cranes or whatever equipment to move these stones here! They are not concrete, that's certain. It is just amazing what they have done just to create them.
And speaking of details, there were a lot of masterpieces to see here, and the above plus the following below are just a few of the many astonishing pieces/works of art, sculptures, and architecture that we have captured on camera during our visit.
These were on the high walls. Just a portion of the replica of the Great Temple of Abu Simbel.
And because of Adonis, we have to include these sculptures too. 'The Kiss' is one of my favorites, lol! There were others around but the photos were quite bad so I opted not to include them here :)
And these were atop one of the European buildings in the area. They look interestingly beautiful. And not to miss their detailing too!
I have to say that the work they put in to recreate many of the world's wonders in one huge theme park was undeniably amazing. One can see how extremely talented and ingenious people are just by visiting this place.
And here's to ending this little adventure which mainly focused on architectural details and works of art or masterpieces I guess.
