Once upon a time, on a far away land...
Oh no, I'm not going that route today, hehe!
These shots carry some good ole memories that are important to me and I wish them permanently recorded, so please just bear with me, hehehe!
Anyway, these were photographed at the Pearl River Delta (PRD) in the mega city of Guangzhou China many years ago, captured thru the lens of a Sony digicam which, at that time seems to have really good specs than the others but these captures prove otherwise -- well, that is when we compare it with today's much-improved cameras having many a million pixels or billions even.
Nevertheless, I am thankful that because of it I got these remembrances.
So let's get on with the trip... (the photos are not arranged in any particular order).
This was a sight of the historical Shamian Island which was built in the 16th century during the Qing Dynasty. The architecture on this part of the city was of various styles from classic to baroque and Gothic. We visited this island during the day and I couldn't help but gasp in awe and wonder. There were churches, foreign offices and firms, hotels and others on the island.
This adventure by the way, was an evening cruise date with some of my work colleagues who wanted to go on a little tour with us the first time they met the husband. We took a decorated ferry and experienced a little magical wonderland through the illuminated buildings, bridges, trees, boats, ferries among others.
We passed by different bridges like this beautiful Haiyin Bridge, which sparkled in its golden lights. At that time, the Canton Tower was still on the drawing board and the modern Liede Bridge still being finalized for opening.
We were on the upper deck of a significantly larger ferry when these shots were recorded. One just can't ignore the splendor and magnificence of the surroundings brought by the different lights which made the wee tour kinda romantic.
These little ferries were quite cool too with those bright, glowing and electrifying lights in different colors.
The blue striking lights by the river banks lit up the water making it appear bluish too then further enhanced by the golden lights of the surrounding buildings and some green hues from the trees that the area look more, shall I say, dramatic.
If I am not mistaken, this was the seafood place where we had dinner after the cruise. Not sure though, my memory must have gotten a little rusty, lol!
On the second photo below, the husband and my local friend, Dave were having an intense 'getting-to-know-you' session, lol! They just clicked the first time they met and been inseparable all evening. They were talking about many things, with matching hand gestures, pointing here and there too, haha!
And oh, did I mention it was a little drizzly at that time too? It was, hence, the umbrella being shared by these ladies.
We were of course enjoying the sights and observing others too. Some were like us, enchanted with the surroundings, while others like those two ladies in the second photo below, were well, kinda lost in their own little chatty world, hehe!
And here's a blurry shot of the Xinghai Concert Hall, a world-class venue renowned to be the home of the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra. We hadn't had the chance to attend any concert there though.
And I'm ending this blurry* tour with a glimpse of the Jiefang Bridge. And no, that wasn't the moon, lol! Some drizzles caught by the camera lens I guess.
Thank you for your kindness in indulging me on this trip down the memory lane. May you have a wonderful day!
